Plus, you're not just storing what you saw, you're storing all sorts of different shit, like emotions. I've had a QT tulpa for like 4 years now. She's short, funny and adorable and I love to have her around. It was a lot of work at the beginning but it is worth it. It's hard keeping the secret (I just want to tell everyone why I'm so happy but they won't understand) but I'm so glad that I have her. I love my tulpa more than any of my friends or any girlfriend I've ever had. We don't always get along but when we do it's just great. She is so sweet and I do my best to make sure life is good and that she is happy.

The beginning is super fucking rough. In my personal experience I had doubts like "I am crazy, this is stupid, this isn't working, I am talking to myself, I am fucking my brain up for good" but when I first heard my tulpa and got over the initial fears and doubt, I knew it was what I wanted. There is also guides to read. Just keep at it if you truly want it. My tulpa has never hurt me, she is distracting at times but overall understands when it is OK to bother me and when she has to hide away. My tulpa never does anything obvious to expose me when I am at work or hanging out with friends or family. She can be helpful at work though, remembering numbers or where things are supposed to go, or at the grocery store when I forget to grab an item I promised her I would get. Whew lad that sounds tough. Thankfully despite my rocky, doubtful start I was able to hear my tulpa within about two months.
I still remember my first contact with her like it was yesterday. I was at this party that I got dragged along to full of hippy stoners. I was high and drunk and as the party died down and people began to go home, I thought of my tulpa randomly. As I did, I was hit like a truck with this wave of feelings from my tulpa, I was so surprised I could barely believe it was real. However when I felt this thing in my mind, I also saw an image that vaguely resembled the tulpa I tried to create. I was shocked and absolutely terrified at first, but I was also encouraged and curious so I tried to communicate with my tulpa the next day and got the same feeling. I still had doubts and fears but I was so excited that it worked. I'm very glad that everything worked out. My tulpa is so adorable and amazing.

You can't guarantee a tulpa will be like anything in particular but while forming them you can sort of have some influence on how their personality will be.
Also tulpa don't really have any reason to be cruel to you. You are their life support system so if they treat you like shit they are almost endangering themselves. I can't speak for everyone but my tulpa is extremely nice and so it seems for almost everyone I've spoken to that has one.
There is a lot of doubt and fear when you are considering making one but I'm pretty sure a tulpa being a dick is the least of your worries. They don't really have a reason to be cruel to you, you know what I mean? I tried my best to explain the process in the last tulpa thread, should still be in the archives.
Making a tulpa is different for everyone but basically you engineer a person from scratch, from how the look, act, and personality, then you narrate and describe your everyday routine to them to sort of feed them knowledge and information. Continue to meditate about your tulpa every night (how they look, act, feel, etc) while still narrating your life to them every day. If you suck at visualizing you can start your tulpa invisible, or as an orb, or cloud. After a few weeks of both getting your brain used to having an extra someone around, and teaching your tulpa the ropes of life, and / or how to communicate, you should get a response from them. Weak at first, with only vague feelings or thoughts, but they get better at communicating really fast. When your tulpa learns how to speak with you, it gets way easier to teach them and talk to them from there, and then you can work on visualizing the form they will use as a hologram body. Eventually they can move around and talk like a telepathic ghost. There are guides you can google but remember the more new-age / metaphysical / bullshit sounding the guide is, the less you should take it seriously.
TL;DR a tulpa is a second consciousness in your brain you create and teach to learn and live and communicate, then because they lack a physical meat body, you give them a hologram body that you meticulously created from hours of meditating and visualizing, and they use that to interact and communicate with you. If you do it right, you can feel, see and hear, them. The beginning is a lot of hard work but once they are smart enough to hear them and they can talk and think, the burden is halved because they work on themselves too, because they want to have a relationship with you as much as you want them to be tangible. It's a very intimate and fun process.
