>anon, it's your turn to read to the class
is there a worse school time feel than this?
>is there a worse school time feel than this?
Obviously
>alright everyone, partner up, today I'm letting you pick your partners.
It's even worse when they try to pull that shit in college, no body wants that shit anymore, especially when you're paying out of pocket 90+% of the time.
>>28918190
>He didn't leave the class and comeback so he could do the work by himself
>start reading
>get nervous
>voice starts drifting away
>im eventually moving my mouth to speak but saying nothing
>cough a few times to cover it, like im clearing my throat
>teacher calls on someone else
What in the absolute fuck was wrong with me.
Speak for yourself.

>stare at book for 20 seconds
>don't remember what happened next
>teacher starts yelling because i forgot homework
>teacher says i'm smart so he recommended me to take an advanced science class, see how happy he looks and know i'm going to be a disappointment
Not really, most people don't even know how to read property.
>>28918190
actually that's a great way to get to know new people without feeling too forced
>start reading
>read like a normal human being
>finish reading
Is reading really that hard?

r u gud now?
>>28918169
>get into groups

>make a skit in your own groups

>he's capable of actually getting to know someone, or even speaking to them without stuttering and dropping spaghetti
>I began to read clearly, using different dramatic voices and tones for each line of dialogue.
It was great. Girls started giggling.
>tfw I was the autist who read in character
>Get paired with a girl in class because we were the last two
>girl says "eww dont put me with him cant i be the 3rd in another group?

Hey OP were you one of those illiterate fuck kids who couldn't finish 1 fucking page without stuttering when called to read in class
>>28918371
I'm just doing my best, okay?
>>28918425
Nothing wrong with that, I'm not one for stupid robot identity politics. I'm glad things were easier/better for you, though.
>>28918387
i did this
>>28918371
this kind of made me a little mad because on the internet i can make friends, and when i leave my town i can make friends, but when i go back everyone just shuns me and shittalks me
>>28918169
yeah, when I feel like shooting everyone
>Teacher, I can't hear anon!
>Anon, please speak up so the class can hear you
>that one guy in hs who literally couldnt read
>>28918409
Tell her you would pay her 35 bucks if she joins you and 200 bucks for a full service.
That's about the expenditure of a decent massage salon + team building experience + extra manpower working on school project. It's a good deal no matter how you look at it and let's face it, you are gonna spend the money on hookers anyway, might as well do it with something extra.
Alternatively, you can hire an escort with you for half a day, preferably a good looking one in your age group, having her sit with you in class playing the intimate game. There is a phenomena that causes girls to want guy who has had girl. In the long run this can benefit you both with attractiveness and some experience communicating with a female.
>that one kid who's voice cracked every other sentence
>that one kid who read words that weren't even in the book
>that one kid who read in ebonics
>that one kid who couldn't actually read
>that one kid with tourettes

WHAT THE FUCK. I JUST WAN'T TO FINISH THE SHITTY FUCKING BOOK. STOP PICKING THE RETARDS WHO CAN'T READ JUST TO LAUGH
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>Ok class, you will be put into groups and have to act out part of a play.
>Hey anon, you are tall so you will be a tree
It's like they want me to shoot up the school
>>28918169
>anon, it's your turn to read to the class
>Used to do funny voices
>Class usually loved it
>One day try doing a southern accent while reading

>Classmates ask me "Hey can you just talk normally bro" "What are you saying"
>Clam up
>Never read or try doing different voices ever again
>have brain damage
>sometimes my mouth gets away from my brain and I don't always notice
>decided last year to finish up my GED

>read for about ten minutes
>look up
>I strayed from the story and rambled about nothing for most of it and everybody was too confused to stop me
>>28918916
somebody stop this mad man
did the teacher ever ask you to read again?
>>28919059
No, it was a pretty short class and we were almost through the book anyway. After that we had to pick out our own book and read it alone. It was very embarrassing, though.
>>28918330
>read property
Most ironic thing I've read in a while.
>>28918451
thank you mate! I hope the best for you too.
>>28918875
This really hurt to read. Made me want to burn myself on fire.
>>28918169
>Ok class, everyone needs to give a 10 minute presentation on how they feel about this SJW book
Just kill me. Now that I'm out of college, I have to do presentations for work - big ones probably twice a year, upwards of 50 people (executives, upper management etc). Smaller ones to about 15 people every 1-2 months, but sometimes multiple times a week.
Fucking worse than school but I'm getting better about it.
>>28919532
I never understood why people take these useless classes, all my classes are in chemistry and biology field, with electives in public speaking and finance.
Do you want to have an easy time?
>class reading where students read something aloud then call on another student to read the next few paragraphs and so on
>some fucker calls on you
>do your reading
>realize you don't know the names of anyone who hasn't already read
>just point at them
This is especially bad if you have to go boy/girl/boy/girl because I practically knew NONE of the names of the girls in my classes, even when I've been with them for 4 years.
>>28918169
One weird thing about me when I was a kid is that I loved public speaking assignments and reading out loud. I think this was probably because I was good at both. Reading to the class gave me a rare opportunity to feel decent about myself and get complimented by the teacher. I had a substitute in the sixth or seventh grade tell me that he was "blown away" by how fast and articulately I could read.
On the other hand, I was an absolute autist when it came to talking to people on-one-one. I always - and still do - hate group collaboration projects.
>>28918190
>Okay class time to present your projects and get critiqued by your peers.
I would start sweating on presentation days.
>>28920284
Are you Bateman anon?
>>28920335
it gives me fight or flight response and my cock hard for some reason
it made my presentations rather more complicated to prepare for
>>28918190
this. reading aloud in class was fucking ez mode, especially as a TAG kid.
pairing up in non-predetermined groups meant I just sat there by myself until everyone else paired up with their plebfriends and hoped to god I was the odd one out so I could work on my own instead of being paired with a special needs outcast on the other side of the spectrum.
>>28918349

>"i'm reading ahead, pick someone else"
while little timmy's stuttering his way through a paragraph i'm 20 pages ahead
>>28920364
I would always try to go first just so that I can take advantage of the low expectations everybody had, and so that at the end people would more than likely have forgotten my shitty presentation.
>>28918169
fucking normie
real robots have no problem reciting something preset to a large group of people
it was more annoying to have to wait for spergtron mcspaz to take 5 minutes to read something as long as this post
>>28920347
N-no? I'm not sure if you're referencing the character from the book and film or some thread I must have missed.
Like I said, I was very socially awkward when I was younger. I could hardly have conversations with people my own because I was intimidated by them and didn't want to be rejected. However, I've never been shy about reading or speaking up in front of strangers, provided the latter took place in a semi-formal venue or circumstance. I was reading at a college level in elementary school and scored at or above the 99th percentile on the English and Reading sections of the ACT, so that's always been an area in which I've felt confident.
Of course, I fucking suck at a lot of other things. I melted a plastic tarp onto my motorbike's exhaust because I was dumb enough to throw it on right after killing the engine. I can't draw to save my life, have awful handwriting, and am completely average at math.
I'm just happy I've got a couple of things I'm good at, I guess.
Definitely not.
>Anon, you have 16 missing grades and we're only 4 weeks into school!
>All you ever do is sleep
That's because I wanna be dead
>>28920474
Maybe you're dumber than you think. Bateman was extremely well spoken and quite autistic. I know the guy didn't make the best comparison, but come on.

everytime this happened i refused and sat there by myself
I never did classwork or homework either though, I just did the tests and slept through everything else
>>28920519
Trust me, bro, I don't have an incredibly high opinion of myself. I'm confident in a couple of areas and that's it. Even though I had a STEM major and will be starting medical school in July, I have no doubt that I'll not be anything but an ordinary doctor. I'd not have stood out if I went into chemistry or maths or physics.
I've gotten a few articles published and had the chance to give several presentations in front of large audiences. I'm happy with that.
My opinion is that anyone, myself included, who thinks they're hot shit when they're a no-name nobody is delusional.
There are Indian teenagers making cars and airplanes out of scrap metal and American high schoolers solving energy problems and helping impoverished people around the world. I ain't shit and neither are most of us.
>>28920519
99th percentile is really good, he can probably wreck you in a speech contest especially if held in public
>>28920526
That's pretty optimistic!
>>28918266
Same
If my class was reading a play I would get the main speaking parts because I enunciated better than anyone
>>28920600
You are like a beacon of light in midst of necksweat and cum clustered dorito hands.
You're too positive and humble. What are you doing here?
>listening to another kid read aloud in class
>he mispronounces every fucking word and it makes me irrationally angry
>>28918169
Despite being a fucking fat nerd in school I could read extremely well, and I would always do it when people couldn't do it, like they would start to stutter and shit.
>>28920681
it's not irrational
a decaying language is the first mark of a decaying society
>>28920786
you'd interrupt them?
nice
>>28920805
maybe you should take care of your decaying cum blanket
>it's your turn to read outloud
>see the word 'nigger' on the page
>>28920603
Eh. Like I said, I've got my talents but I'm average enough in most areas to keep a level head. I don't even know a lot about the laws and rules of the English language. If somebody asked me what a "perfect participle phrase" is, I'd have no idea what to say. The only reason I got the scores I did is because I had parents who made me love reading.
Truth be told, I'd much rather be at or above the 99th percentile in a field like physics or mathematics or chemistry.
>>28920661
I'm 23 and have been coming here since I was sixteen. I was an absolute cock back when I was younger and really did think I was the smartest guy in the world. My perspective has shifted since. I'll accept my strengths but will own my faults. I've made too many big mistakes to keep thinking the same way as I did when I was in high school.
>>28920805
all languages are evolving
english speakers in the 16th century wouldn't understand modern english
but most people would say society has improved since the 16th century
I actually loved this feel because my mother whipped me into excellent elocution, and I was finally able to be a fancyboy.
My worst feel was when they made the autistic/shy/retarded kids read aloud and I had to hold my tongue as they stuttered and mumbled in a flat lifeless robot voice.
>>28918190
>alright everyone, partner up, today I'm letting you pick your partners.
Beat me to it.
>>28920870
I see anon, good going. I guess it's the state of lacking something that motivates us to better ourselves. I'm pretty good at chemistry but I would much rather be a better communicator.
>>28920846
>had to read Huckleberry Finn every year in high school for English class
>before we could begin to read the book the teacher always had to give these long-ass lectures about racism and the book's use of "the N-word"
>>28919665
What the fuck do you mean, do I want to have an easy time? At any rate, English courses were a requirement at my college. Of course there's also some liberal arts electives everyone has to take.
>>28920875
>english speakers in the 16th century wouldn't understand modern english
it probably wouldn't take them more than a few days
>>28920875
>but most people would say society has improved since the 16th century
i wouldn't
>>28920980
did you go to 4 different high schools?
that's stupid
>>28921067
No, I attended only one high school and we read the book every fucking year. Shit was whack.
>>28921095
the teachers who made the curriculum must have really liked the book
>>28918492
I hated this so much. Teacher would call on the kid that couldn't read for shit and I could feel the whole class suffer.
It's sad, but it was like that in high school too.
>>28920944
Sure - I think you're probably right.
I guess it might sound cheesy, but I think an important part of being able to feel content is coming to terms with your own limitations while still striving for achievement in a chosen niche. One realization that helped me come down off my high horse was that, if I died today or tomorrow or in a week or a year, almost every person on earth would keep on living just as they would were I still alive. Perhaps I'd get an ounce of coverage on local channels if I was murdered or went on a shoot spree, but the most attention I'd be liable to attract is that of a couple readers scrolling through obituaries in the paper.
Anyway, I'm going to pass out. I'm tired and am just going to start writing in memes.
>>28921226

>>28918190
this shit still gives me nightmares.
>>28920875
>but most people would say society has improved since the 16th century
society is evil, and has in fact gotten worse every year.
>>28918190
the thing is this was only a problem for me in classes with more girls. in classes like fitness there would always be one bro who would pair up with me, even if everyone there liked someone else more than me
