Does anyone still like post punk music? I was wondering because I'm very much into it.
I'm talking about bands like Sisters of Mercy and The Cure.
I was hoping I wouldn't put off anyone guy or girl with my musical interests.
Furthermore, what is the most normal music genre.
everyone likes post punk. it used to be edgy and weird 30+ years ago, but now it's hardcore normie.
pop music will always be the most normie music, but what's pop, or popular, changes year to year and decade to decade. whatever taylor swift is is normie music.

Gave Death Dream a listen yet? and Synthetic Love?
Who cares if you're music choice is off putting to idiots? Fuck them. You don't need to impress dumb shits who only listen to stuff on the radio or the beatles and stones. I'm seeing the Cure in two weeks and i'm fucking pumped. I'm gonna get drunk and stoned as shit and try to pick up hot goth milfs.

I haven't listened to Death Dream yet, but I have listened to Synthetic love. In that one I only really like Fade Away. I should probably give it a second opinion.

Nah you're right, just looked at it again; Fade Away is definetly the best of that album. From Does Not Exist, I love Into Your Heart (and Summer Love like most people). A couple of others more too, the last song is p. good. That transition as the voice says "but I must detonate in 75 seconds" or whatever, got any idea where it's from? I thought it was from a movie or something but haven't found the source yet.

I love that album cover. She's either overdosing, or staring right at you. It was well made, though the bleeding of the nose suggests one interpretation is stronger than the other.

It was ok but trevor something has such a faggot voice and the lyrics are so dumb I can't help but cringe a bit
Summer Love is indeed a bop tho

There is a youtube channel by the name of 'New Retro Wave' though that you could check out. It's filled with things pretty similar to trevor.

Most normal for normies is pop (obviously), pop-rock and ironic rap.
Post-punk, goth, industrial, oldschool electronica and autism genres like neo-folk and martial industrial are my favorites.
I just don't like it when people say they're into it but they really just listen to Siouxsie or Echo And The Bunnymen. It's like "goths" that think Bella Lugosi's Dead is the extent of gothic rock.
Which by the way, aside from Sad Lovers and Giants, are there any good modern post-punk bands? It's like the genre aged so well, you don't even mind your entire music list is from 1978-1986
