Everybody grows out of /b/ eventually. /r9k/ has no topic but the general group-think of this board is self pity and depression, it you're into that then sure; if not you should consider another board as this one is just toxic with negativity

depends on what you want to do. i like saying gross things and being mean and generally blowing off steam and little giggly comments about boners and smelly vaginas and dad-blowing. shitposting, as it's called. this place is great for that, it's more or less allowed, there's no illegal stuff that pops up like on /b/, and you don't have to feel bad for making fun of these people because they deserve it. made the switch like 5 years ago, haven't looked back.

I also started on /b/, then moved to /v/,/vr/ and, of course,/r9k/.
/b/ truly is the worst thread if you aren't into traps, shota or furry. It's the place where the autistic anons get to be themselves without anyone complaining.

With all the recent summer shitposting, the gap between /b/ and /r9k/ is narrowing. I'd actually put >>>/b/ over r9k right at this very instant. A feels thread on /b/ will be more likely to have less shitposters than an r9k feels thread.
