Pretty good so far. OP is going to bed though. check it out.

>>
I would write it, but who would read it?
If anything, normies would reject it
>>
What story17263
>>
I've got the outline for a plot and cast of characters that span 5 novels. If I ever developed it more and wrote down it would probably be shit.
>>
>>28893818
The story that you're writing that hopefully someone would take interest in, anon.
>>
>>28893876
>tfw I have a whole story planned out in my head with numerous spin offs
>>
>>28893901
I plan on writing out my thing in a couple of years when my narrative skills are more honed. You should do yours. It'll probably be better than mine.
>>
>>28893966
I really want to. I started writing it back when I was a sophomore in hs, which was 5 or 6 years ago. Granted, it was shit back then but after all this time, and all the rewrites, I feel like I've actually improved it.
>>
>>28894047
Same here. I'm not the same dumb kid I was when I first started writing out those dumb drafts in my dumb notebooks. Haven't touched the story in a while but I still feel a sort of attachment to the characters I came up with.
>>
>tfw wanna do a webcomic
Where do I start? Who would read it?
>>
>>28894242
Hey man, if it's good then people will read it. If it's not good, then people still might read it.
>>
>>28894212
>but I still feel a sort of attachment to the characters I came up with.
I know that feel. I've spent a long time writing these characters out that I can't just get rid of them

nigga you should write that shit now and hone it as you learn
>>
>>28894597
This. I've been writing since freshman year of high school (I think), but it was really sloppy, obviously. But now, as I got older and more used to writing, I've included more things like foreshadowing, better character interactions, and development. If I do ever write it out completely, I hope the reader would actually feel attached to the characters as much as I do.
>>
>>28894597
Maybe I will. I've got nothing better to do with my free time.
>>
>tfw my story is about a lonely boy that goes on adventures and meets friends along his journeys and has many friends by the end of the story
Shit. It's all I want in my life.
>>
I last worked on it on October 1st of 2015. It's currently sitting at 4503 words.

It's a diaper fetish story about a mother and her young daughter.
>>
>>28895185
Post a snippet nigga, kinda interested in what you have
>>
>>28895211
It's on pastebin.

>>
>>28895252
Boy, is that something
>>
>>28895371
Is that really all you have to say?
>>
>>28895667
W-what,do you want me to say, anon-kun?
>>
Not too well.

I've been floating around this idea since I was 16 or 17 and just managed to put down the first words on paper. I'm only about two pages in. My friends who have read it like it, but I don't know what direction I'm going to take the plot. Since the setting is fantastical in some ways, I also need to do a lot of thinking about the "rules" of the environment and how they can logically be implemented in a fictional world.
>>
Slowly. It would be a comic if anything. I've been thinking about having a character wander around subterranean labyrinths for the past two years and I finally have a story I can fit it into. This board actually helped me figure it out. I think it could help me deal with a very frustrating situation in my life. Now I just need to master drawing perspective. Also need some serious reference material. I want to draw it in chronological order but
I won't force myself.
>>
I really want to do a story about a character that has the ability to rewind time but it has been done so many times that I don't think I could come up with any original ideas. I wanted the protagonist to be someone who misuses throughout the story but an event occurs which causes him to maybe develop and change his ways. Or something like that.

Was first published professionally about 30 years ago. Spent years making a living by writing custom erotica, which kind of ruined me on writing anything else since no matter what I wrote I'd be thinking, "I could be spending the same time writing a porn story and making at least 5x more." I still keep a hand in, writing custom erotica for extra money once on a while, just so I don't get rusty. I have the notes for a novel I've been toying with for a couple of years based on an inverted retelling of Pilgrim's Progress as a zombie story featuring an obese, katana-wielding, fedora-wearing NEET as the central protagonist.

You should read Time's Arrow, a novella by Martin Amis. It was up for the Booker prize and is an excellent read. It tells the story of a man's life, but told in reverse. And while it's told in the first person, as if the narrator is the protagonist, he's as confused about his life as we, the readers are -- until he reaches the beginning and his whole life makes sense, and he turns out to be someone very different than he thought he was all his life. An interesting novel on a number of levels and plays with time as a narrative tool rather than a science fictional trope.
>>
>>28893770
I'm not writing a story.

Stop making assumptions.

>Took a creative writing class in high school
>Teacher said my work was great and with a bit of polishing could stand to get published
>Writing stories and getting feedback was the only time in life people actually said I had talent and the only time I felt proud of myself
>Now in college with absolutely no will to major in anything or go into any career field
>Thinking about going back to writing and trying my luck

This summer I'm going to try and read through some classic literature and actually write a short story or two and if I grow some balls I might even share it online but the thought of getting told it's garbage might be too much to take as it's really the only thing I feel like I could make a career out of.
>>
I got a response from a publisher saying everyone there had read my work and had considered it for a while before rejecting it. I think it felt promising. They held onto it a lot longer than the period they were supposed to reply in
>>
On every day in my planner, I have "write" written down on the to-do section. I've never checked it off.
>>
>>28896529
Where do I submit work to be published anyway?
>>
Good

I kind of finished it, though I haven't edited it and it's still kind of shit

It's about you /r9k/
>>
>>28896711
a publisher

if you're really serious there are literary agents, people who act as a go-between for authors and publishers
>>
>>28896711
I use the Writers Market but you can also easily find literary houses through a Google search. Writers markets just make it easier
>>
>>28896711
Not that guy, but you want to buy Writer's Market 2016 published by Writer's Digest Books. It's got all the advice and listings you need.

>>28896754
Link?
>>
I've been meaning to update it and post it for over a month but I have no idea how to continue or even if anybody would want to read it
>>
>>28896821
Here you go anon, I just made a google doc for it

It's not formatted correctly yet so it's kind of all over the place, but it should still be readable

The stories I write are too long and each of them are never taken seriously which is what I like.
>>
I'm not writing any stories really, but I'm the process of cataloguing as many childhood memories as I can. Also memories of my interactions with girls.
>>
I was thinking about writing a novel or something but I can't think of something that would span a full book. I've also been thinking about writing a concept album about school shooters.
