the job center are trying to take away my NEETbux, instead of just fake applying for jobs and then going to the job center every 2 weeks to show them what I have 'applied' too they're now trying to send me on a work program for 6 months which will prob involve working in a charity shop or picking up rubbish for 5 days a week (9am - 5pm)
I won't get any extra money, just my usual NEETbux 57.35 pounds / week.
I am seriously considering ending it, I can't work 5 days a weeek, 9-5 for 57.35 a week.
I rely on these NEETbux to buy food.

no they're not.... these are 'work programs' that they send people on to work for pretty much free (you get paid your normal benefit money of 57 pounds a week) and you have to work 5 days a week for 8 hours and you only earn 1.44 pounds an hour.

If the job center got you a job they would be out of a job themselves. These places used to be called dole offices and they just rebranded.
What this new scheme does is basically break minimum wage laws (which shouldn't exist anyway) to """employ""" people for less than they could legally work on their own.
Companies love this shit because they don't even have to pay the employee the 1 pound per hour.

Minimum wage laws dictate what you must work for even if your labour isn't worth that much. It ironically hurts the very people it claims to help as they are let go from small businesses. Large businesses are better off because they have more money.
If it's the Community Work Programme, which is the 6 month placement thing, it was scrapped in either March or April and they shouldn't be referring new people onto the scheme, you should check that your advisor isn't trying to pull a fast one on you.
The bog standard Work Programme lasts for 2 years, and you get allocated to a welfare-to-work provider. These vary so much that I couldn't tell you what to expect.
