When normies and girls say they have depression, they do. But that depression is caused by things like staying up late, eating unhealthy, etc. It's easily fixed, less intense and doesn't last.

No, this is not true. Depression caused by social isolation is easily treated by socialising patients, and it's not in anyway more profound or worse, I'd challenge you to provide a source to that claim.

Or any number of other things, you're making assumptions as to the cause of mental illness for literally hundreds of millions of people. You don't have major depressive disorder (the actual diagnosis) if you're just staying up late and eating shit. You also don't have it if you're just sad about being lonely, because that's a normal reaction.
I agree with you about the chemical imbalance part, but you're incredibly uneducated about the causes of depression, the main cause is in no way fucking social isolation, that's a result of the illness in some cases, while others may react by acting incredibly self destructive and hedonistic. Most people with serious depression aren't robots, or weren't before they had it at least. Unless you think that the depression of the average poster here is worse than what people in inpatient psychiatric facilities experience?
Really though, read the DSM even, it discusses this shit in depth, and it's the most entry level source of info about how illnesses manifest and why they may. Don't just spout theories based on nothing.
