If everybody had a gun, would that put an end to gun violence?
>>28872839
Then every altercation would turn into a wild west gunfight....
actually that doesn't sound half bad.
>>28872839
i'd try to go on a spree. hopefully it would cause a riot and everyone would start shooting themselves.
Possible, mutually assured desturction kept the world from exploding, it could work for guns. Pull a gun, get shot by everybody in the general vicinity.
Yes
>>28872853
the wild west had the lowest rate of gun violence in the history of the US.
No because niggers
>>28872853
IT'S HIGH NOON
>>28872918
Guns were slightly more difficult to use back then. An old western revolver is significantly less deadly and unwieldier than a modern revolver or a semi-auto handgun.
>>28872956
>An old western revolver is significantly less deadly and unwieldier than a modern revolver or a semi-auto handgun.
have you ever shot a Winchester '94 or any of "the guns that won the west"? A colt single action revolver is incredibly simple to use, and will put a motherfucker down in one shot.
>>28872839
I don't know. I carry one and I imagine it will put an end to not only gun, but any violence directed towards me. I'm not responsible, nor would I try to save strangers unless they are kids or something, though. Never understood my fellow gun owners that picture themselves stepping in and saving others. I would just run unless a loved one/friend or I was cornered, desu.
If everyone had a gun you'd have to be on guard all the time. I think that tension would make for more gun violence.
>>28872956
I own an 1851 revolver. It'll kill anyone just as dead as a modern .44.
Unwieldy i'll give to you though. I'd rather have a modern firearm than my 1851
But i don't believe the deadliness or user-friendliness had anything to do with it. It's the fact that if you try anything, you'll get fucking shot.
>>28872956
>when this smug asshole gets play of the game and all you hear isIT'S HIGH NOONover and over
>>28872999
I think I'd be more relaxed. I have a gun on my hip, the guy next to me has a gun in his hip, and the tyrone that's about to chimp out knows this and he'll think twice.
>if everybody had a gun
>>>>"everybody"
how about no
>>28872999
Not really what studies on legal gun ownership have shown to be true. I hear this from liberals a lot, but if you live in America and look around carefully you'd be surprised how many people are concealing everywhere. Especially in the south. Non gun owners think it would be a problem if guns were more prevalent, but they don't realize how prevelant they already are without problems being caused. Felons, domestic abusers and people under 21 already aren't allowed to carry, which I agree with. People with concealed licenses are responsible for an incredibly disproportionately small amount of crime

Someone's never been to Arizona.
>>28873062
europeans are a parody of themselves at this point
>>28873067
Must be why americans are leading when it comes to gun safety. because they have more guns. it makes perfect sense.
>>28873050
>niggers
>thinking
Maybe, at the very least columbine would have been more interesting.
>>28873099
good point
oregnus
>>28873086
We also don't have articles on the news about rampant groping and raping of our females by refugees for the audacity of going outside in shorts, so I guess you pick and choose in life.
>>28873101
May have well not occurred.
Trying to make a name for yourself on kill count likely to die before making a dent.
>>28872956
>a modern revolver or a semi-auto handgun
I'd blast so many goddamn holes in you with my lever action.
Did you not see that south park episode?
Of course it would
Violence is violence, it doesn't matter what it it perpetrated with
If everyone had a gun of cause gun violence would increase, but knife violence and improvised weapon violence would go down
If you think that guns lead to an overall amount of death and negative things (a lot of people don't) you have to ask yourself at what price does safety come? At the downfall of person Liberty?
>>28873086
We have these things in America called "niggers". They're violent and stupid. They get hold of our human weapons and it's literally like a chimp with a machine gun.
There's a common theme with violence and it isn't gun related.
if everyone had a car, would that stop car crashes?
>>28873211
No, but if everyone knew how to drive there wouldn't be.
Gun rights automatically include gun responsibility since it has the power to kill a man so easily
>>28872839
Yes, if everyone had a gun, there would be no gun violence because there would be no incentive to commit gun crimes when everyone is armed. Statists and authoritarians don't understand this.
>>28873356
solution:
sneak up on the other guy and take his gun
now you have two guns
more guns = better than, might makes right, checkmate anarchists
>>28873356
Statists and authorizations understand this perfectly fine. The less reliant we are on the state for things they want to have a monopoly on such as protection from criminals, though, the less power they have over us.
>Inb4 muh cunspiracy
Take a look at mexico before gun laws.
It's still pretty shit, violence everywhere, because that's the nature of humans, not the nature of guns
Idiots shouldn't have guns, which disqualifies a good third of the south.Fudds Unite
>>28873461
>which disqualifies a good third of the south.
yeah, the niggers
>>28873461
Mental health screening should be mandatory for firearm ownership. That disqualifies /r9k/.
>>28872853
>Then every altercation would turn into a wild west gunfight....
People say this every time a state legalizes concealed carry, and every single time it DOESN'T happen.
It's all hysterics.
>>28873482
Mental health is a joke. You think everyone has the money to go to a psychiatrist and get their cute little diagnostic and prescription drugs? Almost as funny as the thought that the majority of people purchase guns at a gunstore.
Wake up from lala land kido. Plus even the post you replied to didn't had anything to do with mental illness. If I wanted to commit suicide you think I'd stop trying to get a gun because some faggot didn't let me purchase it from his store? get real kid
>>28873472
Tyrone is original
>>28873545
You're projecting pretty hard fampai
>>28873570
Nice buzzword faggot. Go back to tumblr or wherever the fuck you picked it up from, but I'll play your stupid little game. Tell me what from my post was I "projecting" as you put it.
>>28873482
>state sets arbitrary definitions for what is considered mentally healthy
>state can just declare whomever they seem to be a threat as "mentally ill" and restrict them from gun ownership
>>28873626
Private mental health facilities will be a thing.
>>28873570
You rang, friendo?
>>28872918
>the wild west had the lowest rate of gun violence in the history of the US
And do you know why that is? Gun confiscation. In a lot of towns, you had to hand your guns over at the sheriff's office or wherever when you came in.
If anyone tried that today, every redneck from Oklahoma to West-by-god-Virginia would rage until they had a pants-shitting aneurysm, and the NRA's congressmen would jump down their throats with the force of ten thousand lawsuits.
>>28873665
Great movie you posted der.
>>28873686
Yeah, Gran Torino was breddy gud.
I can't get into his old spaghetti-westerns, though, because the backdrops and the horses are just way too off and it bugs me.
>>28873665
>Gun confiscation. In a lot of towns, you had to hand your guns over at the sheriff's office or wherever when you came in.
Proofs?
>>28873736
I watched The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly mostly because Stephen King referenced it as an inspiration of his to write The Dark Tower series. I enjoy them for what they are. Just gotta suspend a lot of thought. I see where you're coming from, though.
>>28872993
>Never understood my fellow gun owners that picture themselves stepping in and saving others
Most people want to be a hero in some way.
>>28873067
>people under 21
Fuck your fascism, man.
>>28873665
Big Whiskey is a fictional town, you stupid fuck.
Even so, it's an argument AGAINST gun confiscation. Little Bill was a tyrant in that town who was easily bought out.
>>28874345
Yeah I guess "don't understand" was the wrong phrase. I get the sentiment. I just think they overestimate the amount of level-headedness they would have in the situation.
>>28872918
>correlation equals causation
>>28872839
According to my experience with online FPSs, no, it wouldn't.
>>28874526
Most do.
I even get flustered when I so much as knock on someone's door, but I always handle situations professionally no matter the stress level. That's not to say I've been in a gun fight before, though.
>>28872839
No because don't think straight when they act out of anger. How many people get so angry that they would just pull out their gun and shoot someone in that 10 second moment of pure, passionate hate and rage?
>>28874866
Having a weapon often makes me calmer.
Just because everyone has a gun, that doesn't make killing someone any less illegal.
>>28872918
that's because there were like 0.001 people per 100 square miiles
>>28872839
Nobody would try anything unless they wanted it to end in death for one of you, since they'd be armed and know you were. Also, the cops (knowing that everyone was armed) would have to go straight to shooting to kill, which would make people think twice before doing anything criminal. But what would you have to call the cops about if you're packing?
I think it would bring civility and self-control back into fashion.
