I've noticed that people with low self esteem and image issues usually have them for a good reason, they're unattractive and they know it. I'll never forget the handsome, brilliant, thoroughly good guy most likely to succeed at my university who took a leave partway through sophomore year. Everyone was incredulous to learn he couldn't cope with his social anxiety disorder.

Me and my sister are fairly attractive I guess. My sister is legitimately very attractive. She was pretty much a Stacey all high school but smart enough that she has an actual personality and competence.
Me and her got some pretty bad depression from our mom's side. Addictive personalities from both sides. PTSD from being little kids and getting abused regularly. This is mixed with some pretty weird neurological issues that make us pass out every once in awhile. Then to top it all off we got dementia and Alzheimer's in our family.
