I honestly don't understand why normies are so into Hamilton. Normies don't normally like broadway desu.
As someone who actually works in theatre and is active in the theatre community, theatre people are really into it because it's fresh. So many shows off and on Broadway are just revivals or have overdone stories that aren't exciting. Hamilton on the other hand brought something fairly fresh to the table as a concept. From the people I interact with who are theatre people, they don't really care about the fact that it's dindus playing traditionally white roles, but it's something that hasn't been done before.
