The south did not lose badly. They were winning for the majority of the war. The north just had significantly more soldiers to throw into the grinder, as well as all around better logistics. More factories and railroads = more supplies and the ability to deploy soldiers much more quickly. By the end of the war the south simply did not have the supplies or the men to continue fighting.

I just think it's crazy that you people believe you're going to be fighting the second American Revolution or something.
