A philosophy degree from London Met is worthless.

I had this recently. Weirdly enough I was also 22 stone 10lbs about 7 weeks ago. Started my non sugar diet due to getting diagnosed with type 2 diabetes then and had a slow weight loss down to 22stone 1lb, then suddenly found myself at 22stone 5lbs the week later. Now, about 3 weeks after I finally get the courage to weigh myself and I came in at 19 stone 10lbs. I think the body just requires some time to adjust and yeah, you probably made your body go into starvation mode like everyone else has said. Good luck either way, I know how it feels being a fat fuck. (I used to be a still overweight but less fat 16 stone about 5 years ago)
