No. It doesn't get better.

Serious question, what is the normie procedure for birthdays, especially post-high school?
If you live with your parents after high school are you supposed to get loaded with your boys on your birthday or what?
I was laughing at the pics and then I realized I was older than all of these people
there is no acceptable solution. it's best to never mention your birthday to anyone and hope for the best.
it never ever gets better
stay in your bedroom. going out exposes you to ridicule.

It's like an old diner and the four dollar meal is fucking amazing
I spent my 20th birthday alone. it's different, though. I didn't have a party. I went and treated myself to waffles at this really nice homey place down the street. went to work. went to therapy. came home and played games and watched a movie. my family with my parents ate cake in honor in some way. brought me a slice the day after.

These scream more "low key family birthday" rather than "I have to have a shitty birthday party with my parents because I am lonely and have no friends"

for this girl this is the "family" birthday, she is happy and being nice
she's going out with her friends later, that's how it works for normies, quaint mom birthday, then maybe even wait for the weekend and your friends take you out
there is no shame in this and it can be hard to tell the difference between sad birthday and "first family half" of birthday

I am 35 and I expect nothing for my birthday; this yeah my brother found one of those "FUCK FACE" billy ripkin baseball cards for me because mine got stolen as a kid and it really pissed me off and we had a few beers
he's got a wife and kids though and had he just given me a phone call and said he was thinking of me on my birthday that would have been more than enough
normally i get few phone calls from friends and maybe every other year we go out to eat or something
i think this is plenty

Me, at least for the past 6 years or so, since I became a widower. I take the day off, buy a mini cheesecake, order a pizza, and get drunk alone while I eat it all.

i can't tell
I don't have birthdays. Around 8-9 I stopped because I just hated having them. I think I'm genuinely autistic, I can't handle being the center of attention and I can't handle complements from people, shit really gets under my skin.
I haven't had a birthday party since I was seven years old, and at that party I got a nasty wound on my head.
>>28854421
Me too, but I just went along with it. Worst part was when people at school found out and started singing the song
>>28852715
I'm currently in my low 30s & live alone, and I usually don't want to do anything too special for my birthday except have the day off from work. That and have an excuse to splurge for a little something for myself. My parents usually want to go out to eat, or cook me a big dinner, and/or give me a greeting card+money. I TRY to do that for them when it's their birthdays (or mother's/father's day), but rather not have them do it for me.
>>28853155
I don't remember my 20th birthday myself. I do remember my 18th, where I was away from my main family & visiting distant relatives. Pretty much everyone on both sides forgot. It wasn't a big deal to me, though; by that time I had stopped giving a shit about make a big deal about birthdays. After the hubbub most people get during their adolescence w/ the birthday parties & plethora of gifts, and the "grown-up" dinners as a teen, it just becomes exhausting & expensive. It just becomes yet another day.
>tfw my parents haven't bought me a birthday cake since I was like 10.
>Since I was 21 me and my dad celebrate my birthday by having a shot of Vodka together
I think it's for the best, I hate being made a big deal out of.
>tfw /nobody's birthday/ next week
>turning 20
Worst part about this is "what are you doing for your birthday". At least fewer people know or remember every year.
