Going to a bar alone is the opposite of alpha.. I used to do it all the time and just felt like a pathetic loser drinking alone surrounded by happy normies. your best bet if you do want to go back a lot is to just slowly start talking to the bar tenders so you can at least know them. i have buddies at some bars now who would have a drink with me if i came in and they were working. which is a little less awkward. also less awkward imo if the bar you're going to has food and you go get dinner there too or something.
and yes it is much nicer to drink alone at a bar than at home alone. just more expensive.
