There's something I just love about new york city. I've lived in small towns all my life, and so there's something thrilling about having so many people in one place that wherever you go, you're effectively anonymous. NYC people are content to ignore me completely, I don't get those sidelong glances and sneaked stares that I get from small town people. And there's always at least one person weirder than me walking around. People in the city see so many people every day that almost no matter what I do, there's no way I'll stick in their memories.
I can walk around in public and have absolutely no fear. I still can't really go into any places, though. But it's nice just to walk around.
