You don't eat as much as you think you do. I was like you, too. I convinced myself that my metabolism was so fast that I could not put on weight if I wanted to.
I told my dudebro best friend this, and he observed what I would eat in a typical day, and concluded I only ate about 1500 calories. If I had a fast food lunch, I would make dinner a lot smaller without even realizing it. My appetite was the problem, not my metabolism.
My friend had me eating 2800 calories a day and I put on weight so fast it was crazy. I was so full all the time and it sucked but at least I gained weight.
