Welcome to the NHK is the most robot anime out there, but it's too depressing to be properly comfy desu. Moeshit is proper comfy, Hidamari Sketch is a personal favourite, but if you're new to anime in general then slice-of-life schoolgirl anime may not be your cup of tea yet. For entry-level comfy, anything ghibli really is good, or maybe Tekkon Kinkreet if you want something just a tiny bit less mainstream. If you really want a series instead of movies, try So Ra No Wo To or Shirobako (though the latter is an anime about anime, so you'll appreciate it more if you watch it with more stuff under your belt).
