It's a basal existence. I've been there, playing video games every day, waking up and going to bed when I want, always having a meal cooked for me or left for me to do. You might think you're happy but you're not, you're just used to it. You've literally forgotten what it's like to feel any sense of achievement or satisfaction, that's why there's nothing there to motivate you. It's the life of mould.

Honestly im upset at myself but I barely even care anymore. I've tried getting a job like shelf stacking or anything minor but no one gives me interviews because of my lack of experience. I don't blame them as I wouldn't hire me but its not like I haven't tried, sure I could honestly be trying WAY harder but all I honestly want to do in my life right now is to spend my day on 4chan, playing vidya and watching twitch streams. I've never went out on a saturday night to "party" or whatever so I honestly haven't experienced the typical 14-young male adult lifestyle and see no way I can get into that. I'm sorry if you guys see me as a disgusting cretin, I would love to have a gf friends and a great job but I just don't see the way and the Job centre/Work programme I'm on aren't very useful and my personality/interests would be enough for people to avoid me. After reading this thread it has motivated me somewhat to try again and push to get a job then eventually move out and live on my own as I think thats best for me.

I remember my parents used to argue like that over me
I used to give my mum a lot of shit during my teenage years because she was overprotective and wouldn't let go, and that caused a lot of fights between us because I could see the child in her that never really grew up and I couldn't respect her judgement. Then I had the epiphany that all adults aren't sources of ineffable wisdom but are just making everything up as they go along the same way I was. The fact that she did finally let go once I finished school helped a lot, but I still get the occasional 'because I'm your mother' which is really just code for 'I don't have a valid reason'
I'm really glad we're on better terms now though. I used to get angry really easily and now I'm the one who stays calm when everyone else gets mad. That vocaroo brought back some really bad memories, although I would always openly refute my parents rather than sulk behind a locked door

Dunno, they just think I'm a late bloomer or something, as for university, nothing. I could do 2-3 years at a college and get in probably fine.
