Ask questions, don't talk about yourself unless they ask you something, make eye contact, ask for their number once you need to go. Not that hard.

Sadly, I don't like any of my friends. There's no connection. I'm wanted in the sense that I am invited/talked to regularly. Yet, I give no consideration toward them. They're just people to shake away the fog of loneliness until it is replaced by irritation. I could never speak to any of them again and be perfectly ok.
Real friends are near impossible to find. Accept your loneliness.
You can buy friends. How much money do you have? A BFF is expensive, but a casual acquaintance is pretty cheap. Find a homeless person and have a talk.
