There was a period when I could listen to the most generic post-rock and love it. Stuff like Mooncake, Gargle, Kwoon, If These Trees Could Talk, Escape the Day, etc. I purged like 90% of my post-rock library and only the least generic stuff survived.

Yeah, I listen to GY!BE a bit and some others, pretty good, but not my favorite genre.
I like this band quite a bit though, they kind of have post rock elements, also the members seem like robots

Mogwai only rings a bell, but I listened to top three songs by that Sigur Ros band and it was literally the laziest band I've ever heard. They barely even played. I'm fine with artists who are just incompetent -- as long as they try, it's respectable. But those asses, and most post-rockers, actually attempt to sell it using phrases such as 'mood' or 'buildup', which is loathsome.
I've seen live:
Mogwai (in surround sound)
Explosions In They Sky x2
This Will Destroy You
Sigur Ros
Love a bit of post-rock. There's quite a lot of boring generic stuff in there as a genre though.

Oh and Mono, I forgot I'd seen them.
I'm seeing EITS june 7th, and Mono at Brutal Assault in August.
Post-rock can be anoying boring and pretencious (GYBE anyone?), but sometimes it can be so good... All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone by EITS makes me cry when I'm high.
I do listen to post rock when I feel the need to block out the world.
Post rock is great for isolation.
if you like this kind of ,usic, you should def check out casa sui.

I do like post-rock and shoegaze quite a bit. Especially everything that comes from Japan as the whole scene there seems to know whats up. There are few good western and european bands, but mostly its very mediocre and way too tame.
Got into playing an electric quitar myself through my love for post rock. Shoegaze came a bit later, but all that stuff is great. Its what I listen to most of the time.
