It's a cultural thing. If you look at certain other countries they tend to favor more stylish/lighter applications of makeup. A more extreme example would be the porn industry, where all the broads are cakefaced as fuck. Very few look "too pretty to be in porn" without the mask of makeup.
Women feel insecure about their appearance sometimes and feel the need to change it or cover it using make-up

i find it funny that people think that nobody can tell if it's done properly. if nobody could tell, then it doesn't work, does it? the whole point is to change appearance

some eye makeup is okay, but anything else and I avoid talking to or looking at the wearer. eyelash goop and magic marker eyebrows look trashy though. so far I have lost nothing of value by pretending that painted women don't exist, anyone stupid enough to fall for the facepaste jew has no value
I understand enjoying the application/artistic aspect of it, as well as improving general attractiveness and looking more "put together". It can be an accessory for a date, highlight otherwise subtle features, and even create new features. I think contouring is a bit much, but everyone is going to draw the line somewhere. Some of you would probably find a routine of a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, light blush, chapstick, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil, and mascara excessive- I consider this a light routine.The more attractive a woman is perceived, the better she is treated by either gender. People literally can't help this, either. I think it's worth discussing where people should draw the line, or if they even should though. I think most guys would prefer dating a girl that wears subtle makeup or mascara instead of none- that's just my opinion though, I know a lot of you despise it.
