I grew up in a predominately Spanish speaking area. Never learned how to properly speak Spanish. I like to thing my fluency in English helps compensate for that.
Still, it kinda sucks I can't really articulate myself so well with my parents since they're so adamant about not learning English

I'm Mexican-American. My family crossed the border 4 generations ago senpai. After a few generations the use of Spanish just disappears in your family desu.
I kept my brown skin though (not much interracial marriage in my bloodline), which is actually something I vastly prefer as a robot who's in his 30's.

OP here, I'm taking a Spanish class outside university, but I only just finished Beginner II so I pretty much don't speak it. I learned Hebrew before Spanish because my adoptive family are Jews. I don't even really understand that either. I'm such a failure at languages. Does it eventually click? It sure hasn't for me for any language for me.
