The "youth" used to be chastised for novels at one point, you know. Actually, television (and radio, to a lesser extent) is the odd man out - limited channel/show selection catered to the lowest common denominator. The internet of course caters to the lowest common denominator as well, but you're not forced into that role - there's the whole rest of the world to browse.
