If you're scared about the static electricity meme just touch a metal surface to discharge.

Care not to short circuit anything.
Watch + - gnd when plugging a pin.

In the bios/uefi just use failsafe settings, or default. If something doesn't work/crashes look the voltage at which your ram operates and change in bios.

If something doesn't work the beeps from the motherboard should allow you to diagnose any problem, read in the manual for their signification.

It's pretty idiot proof really, people without any education are paid to chain assemble computers for literally nothing, you won't fail.

>Building a PC is pointless when you realize that every good game is on PS4 and maybe Wii U and 3DS

Man, a lot of people overlook the fact that if you skipped the last gen of consoles (PS3/360/Wii) a PC is absolutely godly. When I first built my pc, there were so many amazing multiplats I missed out on that I experienced in 1080p/60fps/max, where as console users played them at 720p/30fps/low.

Here's a great example, Dark Souls released in 2009, 720p/30fps with drops on console, where as anyone with at least a 750ti ($100 video card) can play it at 1440p/60fps. Notice all the details in the armor/textures that are just a blur on consoles.
>>
>>28767534

Just follow the motherboard manual very carefully and you should be all set, it explains how every component is installed

It feels handicapped in every game except platform games maybe. Games arent made with a controller in mind.

Every game worth playing releases on pc aswell. You cant say that about consoles.

You can build the pc now, you probably have integrated graphics. A gpu is optional.
>>
>>28766236
it's very easy, did it when I was 14, if something goes wrong carefully analyze the problem, and find a solution
>>
>>28767747
And then I can just stick the GPU in when it arrives?
>>
>>28767780
Yep. And the gpu goes in last anyway so you dont even have to take your pc apart when it arrives.

Integrated graphics work suprisingly well. You can play stuff like league of legends at medium graphics probably.
Go on young senpai, build your first pc!

With my first PC, I fiddled with a heatsink for an hour until I decided to watch a how-to. I followed the guy in the video exactly and it just worked.
Then there was the "OMG PC NOT TURNING ON I ROASTED MY CPU" problem after everything was assembled, which I solved by switching my monitor from VGA to HDMI.

What? All you have to do is download a free simple mod called DSFix and adjust settings in it, takes all of two minutes and the game runs perfectly. "A lot of fixes" is complete bullshit, along with "I don't think the game even works properly." The only actual issue is you can encounter a glitch on two ladders in the game but it is extremely rare.

It's really not difficult at all. I was scared as well since I'm dumb as rocks, but the motherboard manual pretty much walks you step by step.
I also watched a video of a guy building a computer, using the same case that I bought. I pretty much read the manual, and watched him build it to do it easily.

The only difficult part of building a PC, is wire management. It's very boring to do.
>>

Because i want to run games at 144fps. I have a 144hz monitor.
>>
>>28767927
>game works properly
The weapon decay rate and invincibility frames are tied to the game framerate. Literally if you're at 60fps your weapons degrade at least twice as fast, you have half the invincibility time, and most enemies animate twice as quickly. Dark Souls was literally programmed in the worst possible way in all regards.

They might've fixed it for the later Dark Souls, but I kekked my ass off hearing how shit it was.

Just realized something that might help. So speccy has AMD high definition audio device listed here right? Well under Device Manager I have AMD High Definition AND realtek high definition audio. However, the static is coming from the realtek audio and not the amd audio device driver as listed. If i disable amd audio in Device Manager nothing happens, but if I disable realtek the static stops. Dont know if this means anything, but maybe it's something
>>

Try installing the latest audio driver for this board and see if the problem persists http://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/realtek_hd_audio.zip

Remember to right click and install as administrator on the installer .exe.

The AMD audio device is for HDMI over audio driver.

Turn it on and let it do its first POST, don't be scared if it does some weird stuff. Secondly head to the BIOS and check the CPU temps just in case you messed up with the heatsink install, if its climbing rapidly (60c+) then power off and repaste.

If all is good then you can go ahead and install the OS.
>>
>>28766236

Its actually really fucking easy it's basically meccano or Lego you just put the bits together and you're away, everything has its place marked out and you just screw it in and plug in all the connections

There will be instructions on what to do with the box each component comes in and the motherboard will have a fat manual that goes through literally every part you can attach to it and where to put it

If you've put something in wrong or haven't connected bits it just won't turn on and you'll just go through and check everything until you find what's wrong it won't explode or catch fire

My biggest problems assembling my pc:
The cpu made...such a noise as I pressed it into its slot, but it's normal (but terrifying)

I had a bit of trouble fitting the larger cables into their slots which was annoying

The HDMI cable goes into your gpu

Don't get a hyper 212 evo unless you want to spend 1+ hours messing with it and being frustrated

High school dropout with double digit IQ here. Building a PC is fucking easy. I have done it twice.

You should have bought the processor bundled with a motherboard for a discount at a retail store

I'm a fucking dumbass with absolutely no experience with technology and I still managed to build a functioning rig. It took me a few hours the first time, but just look up a few guides on youtube and follow what they do. It's impossible to fuck up as long as you stay grounded

Can someone explain static charges and staying grounded to me?
Like, do you have to touch something that is directly on the ground?

Is there anything glaringly wrong with this build? This is my first time and I'd like to not have to upgrade for a while if possible.

Where can I do that in UK?

Larger watt PSU maybe but other than that it seems OK, even with 650W PSU. Make sure Motherboard has all you need in a motherboard

Are my eyes shit or is there no GPU on that thing?

Solid build. One thing you can do if you want to save $90 on that Win10 key is pirate (I believe you can actually pirate Win8, then upgrade it to 10 which gives you a fully legit Win10 key) or buy a cheap $15 key off MicrosoftSoftwareSwap (though YMMV on that, a few keys end up getting disabled.) Also people will probably go "lol, you went full cheapstake on monitor" but if you sit very close to your computer 22" is actually the perfect size. A lot of people get motion sickness because they think larger is better and get huge monitors while sitting way too close.

You don't need 16GB of RAM.

Looks good but i recommend windows 10 pro instead of home because you cant turn off automatic updates in home.

And is there really no way you can get an erhernet cable to your pc?

And i would go with another monitor. Do some more research on that, maybe you want 144hz, 1440p, ips or tn etc.

For videogames at 60hz 1080p i would go with an asus vs248h-p.
144hz 1080p go with benq xl2411z.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure. I figured I might as well, just in case I ever needed it, but I might cut down to 8.
