Anyone else think that the world did sort of end in 2012?
It was changed forever afterwards with so much degeneracy it is completely unrecognizable. First the internet died, then subsequently real life. Everything just started leaking out like some toxic hazard and they sort of melted together. It became basically the norm to talk about stupid youtube videos and facebook. Not to mention the micro jew plague - smartphones. Made talking to people even more hard.
I with it was still the mid to late 2000s, but even the first 2-3 years of the 2010s weren't so bad

How did it get so bad...

Facebook as an concept might not be so bad, its the content. So much propaganda gets shared on there under the guise of memes that it boggles my mind. If you stay friends with all the people who dropped out of your high school, you'll lose faith in humanity every time you check your newsfeed.
>>
I often feel that the world goes to shit. Noone seems to help others anymore, this entire young generation is cynical and politics are fucked beyond rrpair as well.
We have more and more people believing the dumbest shit without checking it.

Also Maybe it's just how I percieve things,
But i feel like there's more and more people that I get to know that simply don't have personality. Like no hobbies, passions etc. They only care about what others think and propagandate their empty excuse of a person in social media, pretending to have a good time.

Maybe not entirely garbage. The masses are retarded, don't have any passions and are completely dependent on sensory inputs, that much is true. But look at people who DO have passion. Anyone who volunteers for a noble cause, or writes original music, or is working towards a doctorate or patent. Or people like Elon Musk. That guy is starting the electric car revolution and trying to commercialize space at the same time. We might end up seeing asteroid mining and the end of petrol in our lifetimes because of motherfuckers like him or those who work for him.

Point is, don't focus on the mass of retards. Don't look down into the mud and shit, look up at the sky instead.

This. 2006 was the last good year for entertainment and internet culture.

>game devs had passion, weren't afraid to delay a release if it wasn't ready
>the internet was properly divided, normies were confined to Myspace and dating sites where they belonged
>MMOs had a greater sense of community, didn't have to go out of your way to socialize with other players if you wanted to
>baggy clothes were still sort of in style so you didn't have to worry about keeping up with trends

The rest of the internet became more "accessible" for them is my best guess. Getting tons of viruses from careless browsing was what kept them in line.

Somewhere around late 2009 was when I started to notice the decline. I saw keyboard cat in a commercial and knew it was only going to go downhill from there.
>>

Holy shit, I thought I was the only one.
I never bought into the whole 2012 stuff, but for some reason I felt for a while that 2012/2013 some sort of separation happened.
Nothing in my live changed during that time, it's a completely arbitrary year, but the time before 2013 feels completely different than after.
Does anyone else feel the same way?

It changed in 2008. By 2012 it was already far too late.
>>
>2012

The world died somewhere around 2008-2009. That's when everything went to shit. Internet becomes popular, social media starts becoming popular, girls become degenerate and digusting, entertainment becomes overwhelming and disposible, people start waking up to what's going on in the world, everyone becomes more selfish and keeps to themselves, etc.
>>
>>28764394
Nothing died in 2012, the world just caught up with what most of us already knew about. The internet didnt die, it just changed, because now almost everyone on the planet is connected to the internet at this point. What you're talking about is your teen angst and how your secret club isnt so secret anymore. What you see as degeneracy is really just a direct projection of your insecurities. Why shouldnt people talk about youtube videos and facebook? They see both of those things every day, just like you see r9k everyday, the only reason you dont talk about r9k in real life is because this place is full of degeneracy and outcast, you'd be ostracized for even mentioning a place like this. Facebook and youtube are normie things now, people like to share videos just like a person would like to tell another about a particularly good movie. You are only looking for reasons to hate humanity. The world will constantly change, and if you already have this pathetic mindset of "Wow the world went to shit years ago" then you are absolutely fucked and there is no saving you. Stop caring about how other people live their lives, you arent a special snowflake, you are just like them.

we're at a point when you can't call someone, OVER THE INTERNET, a fag because it's "homophobic" and people will ostracize you for it

Gen 8 has been pretty bad so far. Lackluster hardware upgrade and almost no goo games and we're almost 3 years into the cycle. There's like 4 games to look forward to, Persona 5, KH3, FFXV and The last guardian. Granted they're good games, but it took so much time for them.

The whole point is that it's even an issue in the first place, nigger. That's the point I was making, that every other site besides 4chan is complete shit and even this place is turning worse and worse every single year.

>one step closer to the one world government

>>
>>28765700
Are you completely retarded? Calling someone a nigger has been looked down upon for literally decades. Calling somebody a faggot will soon be the same thing. If you even have to ask why that is then you are completely pants on head autistic. I still say faggot and nigger around my extremely close friends, but I would never say it to someone I hardly knew face to face. Thats just basic social standards. Sorry you have to try and be kind and respectful to others. On the internet though, where you are anonymous and hiding behind a screen name you can do whatever the fuck you want.

Nothing has changed.
>>
>>28765398
Not quite true. Even from an outside perspective everything has changed dramatically in the last 8 or so years. People are addicted to their phones and social media. Community is more desolate than ever. People are less happy than ever, even in first-world countries. Music industry has been destroyed to pure degeneracy. Food has become worse and worse quality.

Also, what we're getting at with the internet and entertainment is that its become degenerate. Look at this >>28765270, the internet has changed dramatically. Where it was once a comfy, expansive, exciting place like a huge unexplored part of earth that we had only just began treading on, it's now an island that's been fully mapped out, raped and pillaged by degeneracy. It's lost it's organic, magical essence.

This is a HUGE fucking shift that's been occurring for the last few years, and we're now currently in one of the shittest times to be alive, despite being technologically "advanced"

Do you think that the organic magical essence is gone now simply because you have been here for a majority of your life? Do you think a person, lets say a child, with no prior knowledge of the internet today would go online for the first time and not experience that magical essence? You've only grown older, and the internet has become part of your daily routine, you know it like the back of your hand, of course it isnt exciting.

And to say that something as limitless and extensive as the internet has been fully mapped, raped and pillaged after only a few decades of existence is ignorant and incredibly stupid.
>>
>>28765952
>Do you think a person, lets say a child, with no prior knowledge of the internet today would go online for the first time and not experience that magical essence?

I don't think they would, no. Like I said, us early internet users were experiencing the earliest exploration and development of the internet which is actually a really fucking big thing. One of the main things that the new generations WILL NOT experience in the luxury of minimised choice. We're talking netflix, youtube, social media. It's all endless content and entertainment. And what does this do? It devalues everything. Print more money, it devalues all the other money in circulation. Have 1000 ice-cream flavours to choose from as opposed to several, it devalues all other flavours.

The new generations will never get to experience things like having to go all the way to blockbuster to pick a shitty movie without it having been rated by a million people so you can pick the "best movie out there". They will never know what it's like to find a fresh, creative video on youtube before it became saturated with absolute horseshit where people are only after money.

Honestly I've been trying hard to get back to that comfy place recently. I know much of it is unobtainable now, but I feel like there's still fragments that can be accessed with the right preparations. For example, play an old comfy game with zero distractions and zero other entertainment options. You'd have to make it a big task to access these other options. Say, literally sever your internet cables. Uninstall all PC games. Put your phone away in a safe storage space not in your home. That's the sort of extent you'd have to go to in order to experience old comfy feels from back in the day. And even then it wouldn't be as genuine, because at the back of your mind you'd know you have all these other options if you really desire them

The rise of smartphones and the culture of public shaming have created a miniature surveillance state. It's a bit frightening. Smartphones also allowed demographics to have much greater access to the Internet.

The Zimmerman trial allowed to for the mainstreaming of a racial discourse based on privilege theory which has since come to dominate online and youth culture.

You're right. And I can't tell you how much I've learned from reading things largely by becoming aware of said fact and avoiding a lot of stupid bullshit.

>>
>>28768942
The problem is that the internet has become part of real life, and each side of the political spectrum believes it to be a tool to help regulate society as they see fit. Each side has become increasingly authoritarian.

With the constant public surveillance that the smartphone allows, this is a recipe for disaster.

>Anyone else think that the world did sort of end in 2012?

My world definitely ended around 2012.

2010-11 things were looking good, I was 20 and had hope. After that despair took over and I have been feeling like shit and hopeless since. People as a whole feel this way, just take a walk around a supermarket and look at people's faces. It's almost impossible to find anyone that has any optimism in their eyes, they look sad and dead inside.

Not to mention every that new movie that comes out has a character that plays a big part and that person is always apathetic and seemingly depressed. The characters in movies have less emotion and are more stoic than ever. I don't know what it is, but maybe more and more people know that they're being watched and tracked on their devices.

It feels like something's going to happen , like the earth is going to pop from the weight of humanity. It's depressing because everything has been done and can be accessed from a glowing box in seconds. You could see any type of women get defiled by a stud and one click later if you feel like it you can look up any scientific fact you desire. There's no mystery, there is no frontiers to explore anymore, the struggle to satiate your curiosity is dead.

The balance seems like it is tipping, species of amphibians and mammals don't seem significant. However maybe all species have a greater purpose than where they're located on the food chain. There might be a balance we are interfering with that might disrupt the timeline. Any species takes millions of years to form the final product. If you take out millions of years of trial and error, the timeline may be disturbed and our everyday life burdened from a global subconscious guilt.

Some people may have guilt of the world placed on them by a higher power at birth or are chosen somewhere down the line. Tormented by a global burden and focus on the ailments of humanity, they never leave, they never change. They become bitter and tested from observing normal acts like friendship and love. They're humanities punishment for upsetting the balance.

Everything went to shit as early as 2007-2008.

You're probably literal children if you think otherwise.
>>
'07 was the year everything went to shit

it's like tatarigoroshi where we've been shifted into an alternate world where everything is crazy and makes no sense
>>
9/11 was when everything started to go to shit to the level we're at now, society wise
Gave the US a reason to go full big brother on everyone, and gave rise to the safe space tier culture where every deserves a safe space in retaliation to the prejudice muslims faced as a result of it.

This right here is some solid truth.

But 2007 was definitely when it started to slide.

Yeah fine, let's talk about 2012. It was a strange, defining year. Everything did change. I don't know how the fuck the Mayans called it.
Is no one gonna talk about Occupy? Are we all gonna pretend it never happened? It didn't achieve its objectives, but it did change humanity's understanding of the world. People were united in one sweeping, worldwide movement. That's historically unprecedented. We all felt a comradary that spanned the globe. And then we all had our hearts broken when nothing came of it.
I stopped talking about Occupy because I owed the movement an answer I didn't yet have. I stopped because I didn't want anyone to put their lives on the line for a movement with no clearly defined objectives or plan. I'm sorry.
