I'm just gonna say, that most people here were conditioned by society to be robots. By not being the alpha male that loves football since age of 3, they were quickly rejected by their peers. Often bullied, and never met a positive response to anything. That's how social anxiety begins - robots are taught that any interaction with another human being will end up in physical pain, or at least embarrassment (which is too a kind of pain, but psychical). And by not being good with social interaction, further in life they get no chance to improve, because they can't make friends easily like normies, decreasing their social skills even more. Isolation brings loneliness, which in turn makes you isolate even more.
And since deep inside they think that social interaction brings pain, they feel anxiety and don't want (or even know how) to start any conversations. It's not easy to change, I could say that it's pretty much impossible without help of others - but they can't get help because they know nobody.
It's a vicious cycle. No amount of lifting or running will change that. Getting into a hobby (with meetings) might be a good start, since it provides a relatively safe environment for development of social skills with a conversation topic to boot. On the other hand, finding something enjoyable for miserable and depressed people might be an extremely hard task...
