Absolutely.
It can run on a fucking toaster and it's dirt cheap on Steam/GoG/Humblebundle.
The engine has aged well, soundtrack is fantastic, and all the d20 mechanics are solid.
One of the best crpg's ever.
Scout tends not to be worth it for your playercharacter though; your party members can invest those points better.

It was a good game at the time. But I've replayed it since, and noticed a lot of things it lacks when compared to other titles that came since (I'm talking about other games in general and rpgs in particular). There was a disparity between what was left in my memory and the actual game when I replayed it.

I know what you mean, but the experience of playing it through for the first time was amazing.
Taking off the nostalgia goggles is always disappointing, but KoTOR is good enough that it's still great even if it's not as great as we remember.
For those that haven't played it, don't be put off.

nowhere near as good as 1, the first warning is your starting area. Enjoy killing endless mining droids for hours, also the shoddy level design elsewhere (e.g. the criminal planet with two gangs living in areas filled with cargo containers)

KOTOR II is one of the few single player RPGs that is actually better when playing a female character. Everything just seems way less awkward and forced. Also Atton is a qt.

No way.
Not for a first playthrough.
Taris admittedly gets old once you've already seen what is has to offer (i.e., you're playing a second or third character), but in terms of writing and pacing, it's an ideal introduction for a new player. It's there for a reason.
KoTOR is one of the few rpgs I can say 100% should be played without mods.
KoTOR II on the other hand, is badly broken in parts that they're needed to patch the shit the devs left unfinished.

That game was good but the sequel was awful. They nerfed the Dark Side so badly it was not even funny. At the end of the game a pure light side jedi master is basically a God (you literally cannot be killed unless you just don't fight back) while the Dark Side characters are all weak as shit even at the highest levels.
