Assuming that you are not absolutely unattractive, what are the reasons for not getting any attention from girls and/or having everything fall into your lap socially? I've seen it happen for everyone around me growing up and I can't find out why as I didn't do anything different from them. I came to believe in pure bad luck for now, but I'd like to read more input.

I've made no attempt to conform to normie ways of thinking. And I've made no attempts to change my personality to suit whatever fashionable bullshit is currently in style. I say pretty much whatever I want, and that makes people uncomfortable.
I'm not particularly attractive, but I think my refusal to be fake is pretty much the main reason for women not wanting to get involved with me. They're fine being friends but they're never interested in anything more than that.

Personally, I just never put myself out there. I have never approached a woman, or tried online dating or anything like that. There were a few rare instances when I was younger where girls came to me wanting to get to know me, but those never lasted more than a week or two and never resulted in anything meaningful. I have this very strong fear of rejection that keeps me from doing just about anything that I could be judged for.

I'm actually by far on the more attractive end. For me it was a combination of being uptight/straight edge/whatever you want to call it, and being hard to approach. I rarely smile around people I'm not close to and have little tolerance for most people's stupidity.

When it happened, I was too shallow/immature to handle it. The normies in my school would make a huge scene if any of the "less fortunate" girls showed any interest on me. I would feel extremely anxious and act like a douche to them, which I regret

Not trying is the only reason assuming you look all right. If you go and talk to a girl there's a chance that she is gonna be interested as well and it'll work out.
Now, people fuck up because they're ashamed of wanting what they want and instead of escalating sexually they just talk to the girl until she's bored and wants you to die. Normies are successful because they do whatever the fuck they wanna do without giving it a second thought.
