My W/L was 85% which was my highest in any online game. MVP most matches, solid team synergy even with idiots, and mastery of the entire roster. Got really depressed when it was shut down, wasn't even 7 months old.
I just want Gundam Extreme VS fighting on my PC again. Now I just suck at SFV. :'(

my college days when I had a lot of friends I got good at fighting games and enjoyed them. Fighting games are just not fun playing by yourself, not even online features fix that either. Nothing beats you and a couple of bros drinking beer and eating pizza, all passing the controller around in Tekken/street fighter on ranked online.

The games are mostly about movement and vertical. Also managing Boost properly is a thing few people do. Most people that play never learned how to move or block so it was easy to waste them. My better opponents tried to turtle/counter but that strategy doesn't work when I'm fast as fuck. Pretty fun series of games. Now I play the Vita game and cry I'm not fighting real people.

I've been trying to git gud at SFV but I still only have <100LP. Even in games I'm a failure.
Also I get triggered every time someone posts a screenshot of 3S or any other CPS2/CPS3 fighting game in the wrong aspect ratio.
you'll never be good at a fighting game if you're depressed, Fighting games are a mental game, and after playing them for several years, getting into tournament scene, and getting very good, I realized I would never be top-tier player because of my poor mental state, so I quit them.
I used to play SFIV really often and could do the basics like control space, AA, tech, and all of the other stuff but I'm not really feeling V. I didn't like any of the characters I tried out so I haven't played anything regularly in like 8 months.
I've put like 4 hours into it and I preordered it back in like October.

I mean, for fuck's sake it was only availible for what, less than a year? Why the hell would they piss away half a million dollars like that? (I have no idea how much the actual budget was but half a mil seems like a lowball.)
Why the hell didn't they simply port Soul Calibur V to PC instead of creating a Gundam Vs clone from scratch that pretty much no one cares about? They would have made absolute bank on a pc port even if it was years late (see Capcom and Dragon's Dogma.) I've played hundreds of hours of Soul Calibur 3 in PCSX2 and I'm desperately hoping Namco finally sees the light and ports the next SoulCal to PC.

I love ROI but it would have been much better to port SC or Tekken over, print money, and license Gundam VS for Steam. I wish I didn't love mecha fighters so much. Virtual On is my favorite series and yet there's no way to play it online on PC. I even have a modded twin stick controller to play on PC and console. Why'd I have to get good at a dead subset of fighting games?

I hope you don't mind me calling RoI "a Gundam Vs clone no one cared about" but considering how fast Namco abandoned it, it's honestly true. Which is sad considering I actually really enjoyed it, it was beautiful, well optimized, had the classic Namco cheese, etc.
Anyway, I finally got around to playing Lethal League, highly recommend it to anyone novice to fighting games, it is incredibly fun and quite easy to get into.

truth. Cammy is shit tier in SFV. I switched to Ryu and actually started winning matches. Cammy was good during beta and when the game first came out, but when people figured out her gimmicks she became useless.

Oh yes, it definitely is. Only caveat is that online play has a lot of 500+ hour tournament level players. Which is good to learn better technique I suppose but it can be frustrating. I always buy games when they're at least half price but that's one major advantage to getting a game at release, everyone else is learning the game alongside you. But I can still get at least a few kills on the higher level players just by virtue of reflexes.

Come into the sfa3 room, it's a community of its own, just like the 3rd strike community on fightcade. Since sf4 and more recently sf5 came out, sfa3 and these older fighters got a huge surge of new players goin back to the basics in these trying to learn street fighter from the ground up.
