I lived 8man's life for my final year of school. I was held back a year and purposely made no friends in my new year group, and stayed friends with my friends while I was held back in the second last year and they moved on to the last year. Then when I moved on to the last year of school finally they all went to university.
So I found myself facing two paths. Change myself from being who I was currently to either
1. A person that would be accepted into the social groups of the normies in my new year. Possibly have to work up the social hierarchy.
2. A person just like 8man, eating alone, spending lunches alone, not participating in school, only studying, and viewing youth as a facade, a lie and something that other people tricked themselves into believing what was a genuinely great time for them all, when they were all pretending all along.
I chose the latter, obviously. I blended into the shadows and chose to isolate myself, and it was really hard but I became a different and stronger person because of it. It was actually really nice to have no one depend on me or expect me to do anything, and to live life according to my own social rules without anyone bothering me
