You'd be surprised, I'm not op but the UI is actually less of a barrier than the first two dozen things that will cause your fortress to fail catastrophically.
Sorting out the needs and wants of all your dwarfs, fending off invasions, basic plumbing, heating, amenities, strange moods into tantrum-spirals-
The UI is fucking nothing at all compared to ACTUALLY learning the game.
