Is happiness in a post 2008 world even possible?

Yes, but we are not the lucky few who will get to experience it.

I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day
>tfw you have nostalgia for 2005

Absolutely. If you have enough money and you're a sociopath or a woman, there's no end to happiness.
Actual thinking feeling human beings, maybe, if you have a LOT of money so you can distance yourself from the plague and pay for people to collaborate you on creative projects and such, maybe, to some extent, if you set things up so that you don't have to interact with the world on a sociopolitical level, which is getting increasingly harder.
Any other case... thanks for playing, better luck in the next life.

>tfw I am running out of reasons to exist and all I think about is how much better thing were.
I figure that when you are born life deals you a hand of cards. Not everyone gets the right ones so don't feel bad if you decide to fold early in the game
