There is a written test about languages (you have to know at least one foreign language), mathematics, personality and psychology. Then there's an extensive medical examination of pretty much your whole body, you have to be extraordinarily healthy. Also a personal interview with 2-3 cops who will ask you questions.
At the end, when you passed every test, you get your points and then you can look into a ranking list. There are approximately 800 people in the list each year for my city and only 100-200 are chosen.
That's about it.

Depends on how many secondary psychopathic traits you have.
Most psychopaths are unmotivated and lazy, they leach off of people or do something that doesn't take long, planned out effort like robbing banks.

You have to be special kind of psycho to become a lawyer or a CEO. Probably have to come from a good family or something.

I made E-5 like two months before I got out, I didn't even bother getting new patches on my dress uniform for it. >>28696480
Yeah, being a cop would be stressful as fuck and I can't imagine it would be easy at all in a big city.

Now in some small town with a population of less than 50k, it's probably not that bad. You're likely going to have a mostly white population, you'll know everyone and most store owners and homeowners are going to have guns and protect themselves if a situation arises.

Once you get into big cities though, it would suck major balls. Everyone hates you, tons of crime, risk getting shot and always have to worry about the backlash of arresting a minority or god forbid protecting yourself if they attack you.

>nigger starts to pull out a gun during a routine traffic stop

>shoot kid on instinct, remember the last incident where a 12 year old shot your partner in a gang initiation
>turns out the handle was just some toy he kept in his belt loop for some stupid fucking reason
>get fired, name is dragged through the mud by everyone in America, "rah rah police brutality, we don't need cops!", end up hanging yourself

yeah that sounds awesome OP.
>>
>>28695952
Yeah, most pre-existing conditions won't be covered by Tricare. Now if it happened while you're in the service, there's a difference. Also, as long as it's something they can't pick up in your medical screening at MEPS, you can lie about it because they're not allowed to get your medical records. That's why they build their own for you when you join.

>>
>>28696780
This.

You sign a lot of scary paperwork that says you'll get huge fines and go to prison for lying about medical issues you previously had, but in reality there's only so much they can find out unless they launch an investigation on you, which they won't do unless you do some crazy shit like shoot up the base or something.

When I was a teen I was put on anti-depressants, diagnosed with ADHD and put on adderall for a few months and saw a therapist for awhile. When recruiters would call I would tell them I did this stuff and they would immediately say I wasn't qualified and hang up.

Shoot forward to when I was 24 and I wanted to join the Navy, I had nothing else going for me. During the enlistment process they asked about all that stuff and I didn't admit to any of it. Said I never took any anti-depressants, never had ADHD or took adderall, never saw a therapist etc etc... They said okie doke and it was never brought up again.

They don't have access to your medical records, they can only go off what you tell them. Now if you have some obvious injuries like a previously torn ACL or surgery on your shoulder, they will see the scar during your MEPS physical and ask what happened, why didn't you report it, then you're fucked. They can't know about any mental illnesses if you don't report it.

Now as I said before, if you say you're super depressed in boot camp, start to display schizophrenic symptoms or shit like that, they can make you release your civilian medical records to see if you had these conditions prior to joining, then you're fucked. In all likelihood, you won't get a fine or prison time, they'll just kick you out.

Finally, I am not advocating that anyone actually go and lie while applying. If you had a previous condition like depression or ADHD but you're not on meds anymore, you can get a medical waiver and be just fine most likely. I walked a thin line lying about it, but I was fine in the end.
>>
>>28693572
Not really. Nobody's stopping you getting into the real estate business right the fuck now. Problem is that it's risky as fuck. If you're smart, you can very easily make millions. If you're not, you gonna lose your pants. Most robots grossly overestimate their own intellects, but their cowardice is usually enough to prevent them from committing financial suicide like this.

Same goes for being an "e-bay trader", by the way. On paper, you could start doing it right now and make a lot of funny without getting up from your computer. In practice, if you aren't real good, you're going to lose money big time.
>>
>>28693632

Law enforcement is a shit job.

I did jailing. You're watched more than the inmates. Over worked too. Expect to be on call all the time. Your worst enemy isn't an inmate. It rarely ever was. It was some other coworker.

They'll gladly throw you under the bus. Or you'll have to clean up after them. Its always fun dealing with a wing of pissed off cooped up people. Just because you didnt piss them off doesn't mean they won't try to take it out on you.

Oh did I mention admin? They're even worse than your coworkers. The place I was at you could get a write-up over the stupidest shit. God help you if you're picked to be the target or you arent in the cool kids club.

Your uniform isnt perfect after a unit shakedown? You're gonna get talked to.

Your books are behind because you've been run ragged in the units? You gonna get a write-up.

You didn't do a weekly shakedown because your stupidly understaffed? You're gonna get shit for it.

An inmate accuses you of shit? God help you if it's a female because your ass will be in a sling. Even if you're innocent.

Maybe my facility jaded me but it was shit. Loved the job. Hated my co-workers and admin.

I might look into joining after I get out of the military

Because we have good cops here and therefore the requirements are pretty high

That'd be completely your own fault.

You ever been in an actual kitchen m8?

The stress from when lunch rush arrives, the orders pile up, every single dish is different, plates have different cooking times but must come out at the same time, and if you're unlucky your team will be made up of goddamn fucking retards who can't tell the difference between a julienne and a dice can make anyone want to kill someone.
>>
>>28694179
Yeah, what a stupid fucking ideology would lead to only the smartest becoming police officers rather than any hick with a shotgun?
>>
>>28694510
>and the uniform will get you pussy all day.
Except you're under constant surveillance at all times and the media is practically drooling with anticipation to catch you "abusing your powers/status". The moment you fuck a chick you're on a downward spiral and it really is only a matter of time until someone finds out and you get treated even worse than a normal dude who had a bitch cry rape at them.
>>
That's the worst idea I've heard on /r9k/ all day, and that's saying something.

In my country it's super hard to join the police
The guy with the best grades in our year applied to the police and he got rejected
He can also run a marathon
>>
>>28699065
>He can also run a marathon
How fast? Just running 42 kilometers isn't exactly an achievement. The impressive types are those who do it in less than a day.
>>
>>28699202
I never asked for a time, but I don't think it took him a day or even half a day
>>
>>28693206
Because I don't think it is okay to harass and enslave other people to get a pay check.
Because I respect my self and my community.
Because my brain is still functioning.
>>
>>28693206
>Decent pay

Where the hell do you live? Here I can make about as much as a police officer being a roofer, and their medical deductible is so shit you'd have to hope to be shot to use it.

How do you become a cop?

Like who do you call to set up a meeting?

Can someone out of shape but not completley fat be a cop?

How long is training?

Do you have to live in the training camp?

Whats a normal day for you?

Do you get free boolits to shoot at the range?

How do they split cops?
Like a patrol cop, or a cycle cop?
I'd fucking hate anything other than drivig a car.

How hard is it to get promoted?

If I speak a very important 2nd language does it help?

Pls respond

I don't like guns. And here in my town cops are corrupt by nature. Not a good profession.

Actually you need at least a 2 year AA degree now. And it is extremely stressful even in a smaller city or town. And the pay is shit. You're better off being a firefighter but its hard to get into these days, long waiting list. EMT isn't bad either but the pay is even worse.

ugh libertarians/anarchists (basically the same thing) are scum

So cop is not a choice, what else is there?

Do you need to be good at math for computer programming, software and such?

>get to drive fast
>get to shoot guns at the range
>get to bully degenerates
>get to travel around, don't sit in an office all day
>lots of surprises and unexpected things happen on the job

I feel like it would be stressful but at the same time thrilling
>>
>>28700224
Man I would live at the range if the boolits provided were free.

I'd make the department go broke.

Yeah but won't they be asking questions why I'm popping pills twice a day? Plus it's seizures and I heard the only way you're allowed in is if you've been seizure free and medication free for five years. I can't get off this medicine though, if I'm even a few hours late I'll get dizzy.

>>28696955
Yeah but say something health wise goes wrong and they start to dig to see if I previously had this in the past. Now it's "whoopsie, into the jail cell you go :)"
>>
That's my plan OP
I want to attend State Trooper school
>>
>>28693206
Because I'm 5'4 and I don't want to be assigned desk duty 24/7. I don't want to run the risk of getting shot by a nigger either.

Cops are also underpaid for all the shit they do.
