Sims thread?
Fucking Sims thread.

>>28685520
Why is the soundtrack so fucking good?
https://youtu.be/Bs5QGN-zhwM
When was this? I had this on PC when it came out. Was in 1999 or 2000?
I remember those years.
>still a somewhat young innocent kid
>parents were happy
>lived in a massive rich person house
>life was awesome everyday
now im a poorfag and my parents are miserable oldies and video games suck dick and life is shit everyday
>>28685576
pic related senpai. not only do video games suck dick but I can't even really enjoy them anymore because of obvious reasons
>>28685476
>>28685520
>>28685573
>>28685576
>tfw i just want to be happy like i was in those days
cant believe im actually tearing up at these posts in rl, why does life have change for the worse
>>28685476
i was playing the sims 1 just a few days ago
crazy how nostalgic it is and reminds me of my childhood but in retrospect its actually really boring compared to the sims 4
>>28685573
>Those prank calls.
I actually miss them and sometimes wish they returned in the sequels.
But something about the isolated nature of Sims 1 lots made it more paranoia-inducing. I doubt it would work in the modern games. In Sims 1 you just had a large terrain square and the road, and no other background. You could easily imagine a threat coming from the back of the lot where you don't focus your attention on very often. I don't think it would work in Sims 4, where you can see the surrounding houses.
Also the soundtrack formed my early taste in music. Still have a soft spot for jazz.
>>28685626
It's ok to cry to dude. The only reason I made this thread is to see if I am alone with those feels
https://youtu.be/lZATIHW2pp4
>tfw the only date you ever had was in sims
Nostalgic as fuck. Nothing gets me like build mode music.
Jerry Martin did really great music in general.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkMZtXFdlso
>>28685782
>Simcity 3000
>Simcity 4
>Sims 1
And now I'm sad that A) my childhood is over and B) I lost my Simcity 4 disc and have to wait for a Steam sale be able to play it again.
At least I got the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection when it was free. I think that might have been the best thing EA ever did.
>tfw I used to destroy the farming city in 3000 all the time.
>>28685814
Pic related was my most successful city. I wasn't very good at SC4 but loved it anyway.
>tears everytime i listen to this one
https://youtu.be/F2MFv2xe8yQ
>>28685682
oh god this. i remember being 8 years old and shitting my pants, not sure why, and this exactly describes it. i always felt like something would just appear on the lot.
>>28685883
Did you also pussy out and turn music off when playing at night?
>>28685607
That pic always hits me like a ton of bricks
Fuck man I miss 1999, might have been the happiest year of my life
>Lots of friends
>Smartest kid in class
>Piano prodigy
>Zero responsibilities or issues
>>28685905
Not this guy but I couldn't do that. The music is too good to be turned off. Although I did shit my pants everytime something bad happened
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Il5aZhYy8E
>>28685905
yes 100%, i would never play it with the sound on during the night. especially with the makin magic expansion pack, holy shit. that was definitely one of the best but strangest expansion packs on any sims.

>>28685476
Nostalgic. Sad. A little bit autistic that I used to play it.
But everyone was playing it at one point weren't they.
>>28685917
1999 was a great year for me. I was cute, blonde, and genuinely the most popular boy in the class. They were wonderful times.
Now I'm depressed, alone, and never had a gf. And completely forgotten.
>>28686279
>A little bit autistic that I used to play it.
Wasn't the original The Sims one of, if not the best selling PC games of all time?
>>28686279
everyone old enough played sims 1. it sold almost 200 million copies
https://youtu.be/SP4_Oz1U-NI
>>28686365
sorry i was mixing up sims 1 and the franchise, i knew 200 million sounded unrealistic. it still is one of the most sold pc games apparently
It can't be that long. Has it really been that long?
Please tell me it's not this long ago. I didn't ask you to fuck my shit up but you did anyways. Thank you for the feels.
>>28686461

>it's 2:00 AM IRL
>no lights on, headphones in
>late night in your Sims game
>everyone is asleep
>time is fast forwarding
>just a few more hours and then everyone will wak...
*DA DUM*
That shit scared me all the fucking time back in middle school.
Fucker also walked off with my computer when I was 11. After that I was paranoid about putting alarms in every single room in the house.
> Get The Sims (1)
> Have a blast with it; make my entire family
> Find out about The Sims 2, get extremely hyped
> Parents divorce; both sides of the family become estranged and at odds
> Get The Sims 2
> Have fun with it; make my (smaller) family; my mom and two brothers
> 2006/2007
> Brother dies in car accident; mom becomes depressed alcoholic
> Other brother can't handle the atmosphere; leaves in the middle of the night without warning. Now lives in Oregon; hasn't contacted my mother or I since
> Get The Sims 3
> Extremely depressed; don't even bother recreating myself/my family
> Focus on building houses
> Mom commits suicide by overdosing on all of her meds + alcohol
> Get The Sims 4
> Recreate my childhood home + full family
> Load up the game every single day just to look at the house for a few minutes
> Live in a shitty one-bedroom apartment, living off neetbux
>>28687763
>putting alarms in every single room in the house.
I remember that feel
>>28687764
> read through all of that
Jesus fucking Christ that's depressing
>>28687732
Never played the game but it does sound good.
>>28687763
Finding out that you could put a burglar alarm outside with move_objects on probably added fucking years to my life.
From then on, I built a single wall segment at both ends of the road and put alarms on both sides, and then alarmed all rooms of my house.Sims 1 gave me a fear of burglars that lasted for fucking years. It's probably a contributing factor to my paranoia.
>>28687764
>mom suicide
i know that feel, when i was 13 i lockpicked my moms bedroom door to find she had shot herself, bloody mess
>>28687764

>sim of best friend who killed themself walks onto your lot
>shut down game and stop using computer for a while
i've only played the sims 2, is it worth it to play the sims 1?
i really enjoyed 2 though, i think i might play it again when i have time, comfiest time i can remember
>>28688806
It doesn't have as many features. But you should at least try it out if you can acquire the game somehow. It has a very special atmosphere none of the other games has.
the sims 2 was fun as fuck
if i ever get my pc repaired ill have to reinstall it
i spent days and days of my adolescence torturing sims in houses without any exits and making lesbian love triangles to masturbate to
those were the days
We all wasted our childhood on this shit.
>>28685864
reminds me of the good ole days. days that will never be again
I really loved SIMS 1, can't I still play it in 2016?
> everyone had such fun mods
> was easy enough for me to make my own custom clothes
> was going to start making npcs
> sims 1 custom made everything is gone now
> can't model, can't make moe clothes for these new 1080p HD sims
It's not fair, I just want to play makin magic again.
>>28689333
You can still get everything you need to play and mod for sims 1 although I don't know if there still is an active community for it
do you guys remember the modding community for the original sims?
that shit was better than the expansions
sims music would make for perfect mic spam
What happened to this franchise?
I remember 1 being great, 2 still was fun but then it's all a blur and a cashcow of expansions that never mattered.
>>28689567
Ea happened.
>be 9 yr old me

haven't had friends since i was that age.
and now i live somewhere where it doesn't snow.

does anyone have.. problems playing the games these days?
i can't get into them as much as i used to, i mean i can't connect to the sims themselves anymore
>>28691015
Mostly I just use it as a character and house creator. I have tons of families and houses that I spent 10 hours making and 10 minutes playing.
I am crying out of nostalgia again,
Fuck you r9k

so how do I get neetbux
Does anyone else feel really nostalgic when they see games with graphics like the OP pic?
Games these days have to be 4K ultra-HD 1080p (unless they're indie, which can heavily vary). I miss when games could be simple and fun because those graphics were the best we had at the time.
I'm not saying the improvement is terrible and that we should go back, so don't misconstrue my words. I just miss the simpler times when games could be a little less crazy and realistic and they'd still be good. They had a very simple charm to them that tickled your imagination. I feel like games now don't do that for me so much, so unless they absolutely cater to what I want from them I lose interest.
Or I'm just getting old. That's probably it too. But I still miss the simple days of old Runescape and N64 and such.
>>28691924
Do you have autism? It's one of the ways of getting neetbux
>>28692033
no, I'm just lazy and depressed
