Also what type of music do you typically listen to?
>inb4 "Anything that normies don't listen to!!"
Alrighty then guys, talk about it later.
>>28681098
I cannot really pic one album. My music taste is pretty wide, but if I were to choose one genre that would be old school emo/emo violence. Some of my favorite bands are Saetia, Off Minor, Funeral Diner, Raein, La Dispute, pageninetynine, Ampere, The Saddest Landscape and many, many more

>>28682095
this is a two part combo
Oneohtrix Point Never - R Plus Seven is my favourite album right now.
As for the type of music I listen to, it depends. My tastes are broad, but shallow. I know a little about most genres, but don't really care to delve much further beyond surface level most of the time.
I like to make my own music now.
>>28682132
this is the second part
>>28681690
My metalhead phase was synonymous with my learning the guitar, so I'm kind of fucky when it comes to Metal. Unless the guitar's interesting, I'm out. To that end, I genuinely enjoy and respect some seriously cheesy shit like Symphony X and King Diamond.
Antichrist Superstar, although I don't listen to it much anymore nor do I stand for what the album is saying, it was still a big influence on my at one time and all time favorite album that tell the story of wormboy.
>>28682150
this is original music for original listeners
The Mantle by Agalloch. Nothing can match the atmosphere, the cold, solemn beauty and perfection of that album. I still get chills every time I hear "And the Great Cold Death of the Earth" and "In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion".
>>28682185
This was a favorite of mine back in the day as well.
>>28681814
I know them, I like them, I don't know if I heard the last one.
Anyway, I kinda don't get why skramz isn't more popular.
While I understand why normans can't enjoy this:

I still think that with a bit of an effort they could enjoy this:

That's literally the only bad Burzum album, come on anon
>>28681839
I want to get more into grindcore, I'm not sure where to start. I know some goregrind bands, I'm looking for something closer to punk (in terms of lyrics). Recommend.
Caladan Brood - Echoes of Battle is the most solid metal album I've heard in years, I'd say it's even better than Iron Maiden's newest.
Didn't realize there was good taste on /r9k/.
>>28682247
Excellent choice my man.
>>28682207
I've always hated Agalloch. Everyone who listens to atmospheric and pagan-esque black metal seems to praise them though. So whiney, corny, and pitiful if you ask me.
Ulver - Kveldssanger. It's fucking orgasmic.
>>28682219
Goddamn that's fucking gay music.
>>28682183
king diamond is enjoyable. i could listen to abigail over and over and over, although i think i prefer mercyful fate

sore throat, extreme noise terror, electro hippies for punk
>>28682273
I really love summoning too, Oath Bound is probably my favorite.
>>28682183
I started with bass during my metalhead phase. Then I realized most metal is either too hard for me or too boring, with nothing in between. I'm now the punk kinda bassist, putting sick basslines in primitive punk songs. Or at least what I want to be.
>>28682185
This album is like three levels higher than anything else by him
>>28682242
They're not really Grindcore, but I like Siege a lot. They're noisy and fast, so they kind of count. Not really, though.

>>28682274
i agree agalloch is gay
>>28682273

>>28682274
To each their own I guess. Something about bands like Agalloch, Summoning, and Ulver just really hit something woth me. But I also love bands like Sabbath, Maiden, Motorhead, and Nightwish.
>>28682237
Most "hardcore" Burzum fans seem to really like that album, so I don't know what you're talking about. But I don't care what someone else thinks of it, it's my opinion. The lyrics, the atmosphere, and the overall message of the album is perfect TO ME. It's an introspective, escapist album that longs for the distant past while perfecting and defining what Norwegian black metal was truly meant to be.
>>28682380
I love Summoning and Agalloch. They're both the best at what they do.
>>28682310
At least you listened to it. 4chan is the only place where someone listens to music I post. I fucking love this place.
Anyway, why "gay"?
>>28682380
i dont really care for american hardcore, but damn i love some poison idea!
cant decide between Killing Tech and Deminsion Hatross for best viovod album!
>>28682322
I also love Pale Folklore, but I've never really liked From Which of this Oak EP that much. Their best EP IMO is The White. But then again I thought Serpent and the Sphere was phenomenal and a lot of people seem to dislike that album.
>>28682273
Also a big fan of Bathory - Blood Fire Death, Galneryus - Angel of Salvation and Katatonia - Dance of December Souls.

Punk-ish grindcore would be:
Magrudergrind:

Wormrot:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8ie-hsYzSc
Insect Warfare:

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden. Such a great album, although Book of Souls was amazing too.

>>28681825

>>28682663
Well of course it is. Music is a clear reflection of the artist's soul though, most of the time. The music is very homosexual.
>>28681098
Favourite album, and I can pretty much listen to anything. All music is good for me -- or I should say that I would at least give it a chance if prompted.
I'm really looking forward to the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album. Also Agalloch is scheduled to release a new EP this year, hyped as hell for that too.
>>28682757
Pretty much any chick that fucked me up left with an inability to listen to a band or at least a song. I met my last chick at mine gig, where a friend's band also played. I like their songs, can't really listen to them now. She also happened to recommend Poison Idea, so I kinda an't enjoy them either.
Here's the friend's band if you're interested in shitty local emo pop punk

Commento originali
My favorite album is Tinderbox by Siouxsie and the Banshees, although The Hot Rock by Sleatee-Kinney is a close second. Been listening to Garbage lately.
I listen to a lot of rock, basically. Mostly post-punk, punk, goth rock, and grunge rock, with some shoegazey stuff and a lot of psychedelic stuff thrown in. I'm a big fan of female vocals, but not really delicate-sounding ones. I'm a sucker for trippy lyrics, too.
This shit right here. Even back before I caught the feels, just the instrumentation and delivery alone were incredible.
Favorite song used to be Helicopter, but now I see the true beauty in Like Eating Glass.
>>28684301
A lot of NSBM has catchy riffs and a good mix between harsh/clean vocals.
Maybe you'd like Nokturnal Mortum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eh9OJOx48GE
Goatmoon's pretty good, too.
this one is my favorite album
>>28684591
Nokturnal Mortum is okay. But I cant listen to them long. Goatmoon is actually one of the few Bands I listen to sometimes. Besides that I like a few songs from Burzum and Wolfnacht

>>28684606

L.D. 50 by Mudvayne
Very good album, recommended
Lots of atmospheric black metal here. I really tend to dislike the genre because of the cheap tricks they use, but Paysage d'Hiver is a legend and makes the coldest and raw black metal out there.
As much as I like metal though, Can will always be my favorite band and makes my favorite albums.
>>28681876
Woah! I actually have this CD.

Any W.A.S.P. fans here? My favorite band.
>>28681098
This OP. Dreampop and Triphop are my current genres. Mostly Carissa's Wierd lately.
>>28685243
I used to listen to a lot of W.A.S.P. 8 years ago. Inside the Electric Circus was my favorite desu. I stopped listening to them after Babylon came out. Didn't really like it. Didn't the lead singer become a born again Christian or something?
especially the second half.
Though it's really hard to narrow it down to one album, there's a lot of artists I like (for example Summoning which was already mentioned here).
Also Bowie's been growing on me lately

ahh, my people.
>that would be oldschool emo/emo violence
don't struggle with it. if anyone asks, just call it punk, because it's basically punk. you listen to pg. 99 so you probably know that by now.
look up Adaje and Grayscale. Adaje changed my life. Funeral Diner, Loma Prieta, Ampere, also game changers. Lost in Bazaar is a game changer.
>there are people who will never hear these bands and hear actual real passion, not someone pressing down buttons on a DJ booth with tons and tons of editing.
>>28685481
Dunno if it's stoner metal, but it's metal that's great to listen to stoned.
I listen to a pretty good variety, but ambient stuff has generally been my lasting favorite.
I go through cycles where I'll get really into a certain genre for a while, and just listen to tons of stuff from that genre until I find something that I feel tops it all, and then I'll head back to my old favorites until another genre grabs my interest in the same fashion.
>>28681098
