So they built a Europooor loco. Most roads there run this way. We didn't invest in that kind of infrastructure because muh oil.
>>
>>28679540
Most northeast corridor run under the wire.
>>
>>28678757
>>28679540
... you're saying most US trains don't run on electricity?

lol americucks

how does saudi penis taste like
>>
>>28679599
Did not know that. What kind of engines are they using?

Former RR fag, enjoying rare roboto train thread.
>>
>>28679620
Eurofag implying he doesn't know the taste of mudslime cock.

That's fucking golden m8.

Top kek

try to pretend to not be americuck more
>>
They were thinking way ahead of their time but the oil tycoons bought the politicians or bought their way in to office last and literally outlawed electric competition

Truly a land of free market opportunity, kek

You realize how much bigger America is than most other countries, a lot of European countries would fit in an area the size of Texas. That's just one state we have 50 of them. Don't they teach you anything in school over there?
You see all that electrical stuff poles and wires, how long do you think it'd take and cost to put up along ALL the tracks and then get knocked out by weather because the weather fluctuations and variations are massive across the country.

DUDE DIESEL-ELECTIC LMAO
GET FUCKED. ELECTRICITY NOW. ELECTRICITY FOREVER.
>>
>>28678757
That's a big train

Was being electrically powered part of its plan?
>>
>>28678757
Why didn't they put in an electrified third rail instead of cables? What a failure.

it's a clean, efficient way to run trains, but can get expensive for long distances. should be used for local/commuter services in or near big cities, and for HSR in the regional corridors, but not for more rural lines or transcontinental freight

That snow train looks awesome, wish I lived somewhere that snowed year round so I could get cool snow themed vehicles.
>>
>>28680469
WHY DO THEY PUT UP THOSE HORRIBLE UNAESTHETIC POWER LINES ALL THE WAY UP IN THE FUCKING SKY FUCK

Put it on the fucking ground. Engineering failure

less power, slower trains
>>
>>28680544
American trains are often quite tall, as they're designed to share tracks with double stacked freight trains. and see >>28680550

they're simply not sufficient for longer distances, and they're too hazardous for street running trains. third rails are great for subway and some commuter rail systems, but for trams and HSR overhead is the only option
>>
>>28680601
Yeah lets put a high voltage rail in the middle of a fucking field where any peasant or his cow can fucking touch it.
