Why would you want people to know where you are/what you are doing and why do others even give a shit?

I don't really get it either. I mean, I understand being social and sharing your personality and interests (what we do on 4chan basically) but the whole concept of putting yourself out there is so fucked. You're giving bits of yourself away to a big corporate system, where they will stay forever. Each thing you type under your name is a representation of yourself which will stay with you forever past your death and no one seems to give a shit. The internet will still exist in 100s of years and people might use your dumb shit for their research papers.
People are so narcissistic these days they actually think hundreds of people give a shit about what they say. It may even be true for them, but it never will be for us. No one will ever give a shit about what we have to say.
When idiots obsess over what brand of toothpaste their favorite celeb uses they get it in their heads that Everyone must give a shit, SO if they lay out every insignificant detail of their mundane lives for all to see people will obsess over them too, right??
