I lifted 3-4x per week for years. I got back and shoulder injuries when my bench got up to 250 and my deadlift got up to 380. For a year and a half now I have been going light weight, high reps and... eating my feelings.

I am trying to be careful with diet and not re-injure myself with lifting, but it's not working. I have to avoid hurting my back again or I'll end up in some dire straits when I get older.

Yes, I used bad form. My body is apparently not proportioned well for lifting. I am double-jointed and it affects my posture. I didn't know this when I started.

it's my back injury, mostly. I can't bench press, overhead perss, deadlift, OR squat like I used to. I used to do 20 reps on squats with 175 lbs, but now my back hurts just getting out of bed.

lifting fucked my back even though i studied and did everything I learned about for form.

I have trouble recording. I own a Line6 UX2 with Pod Farm, but the records always come through muddy and I was too dissappointed/out of money to try to figure out a solution.

Maybe you had periods of half assing a half assed routine every couple of months for a few years, but I know for a fact you've not been consistently lifting for years looking like that.

Zero. I don't actually play, but I'm very familiar with guitars through exposure.

My only real tips would be get direct line recorder or something, or get better wires. But I don't know if that's even real advice.

OP if you're into playing you're guitar you must have a certain level of dedication already. Maybe lifting isn't for you.

All you need in life is something that tells people you can dedicate yourself to things you enjoy and they'll respect you. It can be exercise or a hobby like an instrument.

I tried for years to play the guitar and I was total fucking shit at it because I never practiced, just like you never lift properly or follow your diet.
