The last gaming PC I built looked very similar to that, with no flashy gaming components and no effort put into wire management.

Also, you can get ram at a later date if you need it. If you can do with a 600w PSU then do it. SSD, I'd hold off on personally if you need to save money, it will work faster in the system, but games won't really make too much of a difference except for loading. You can always upgrade and spend the extra buck, but sending it back for full refund is a pain. Stay away from rebates. Most times I never do them, even though I tell myself to. It's not a cash rebate either, it's a card and will take forever to get it

Premade PC still look the same on the inside today like they did ten years ago. If its a local prebuilt then the inside of the case would also be painted black but still look fairly the same with cable management etc.

R9s are fine, but don't get a 390. Get a 290x instead. I bought a 390x used a week after they came out on craigslist and it's not that much more powerful than the 290x.
You shouldn't need any extra cables, beyond maybe some SATA connections etc, but at the least you can just salvage/steal them from your current pc. Good pick for the modular psu.
Also, if it's your first time building, you might wanna look into getting a full and not a mid case, it'll save you a lot of headache unless a form factor pc is absolutely required. Godspeed, anon, and good luck
