Are social cues a real thing or are they just a normie meme?
Both.
They are a normie meme that is so prevalent that you need to pay attention to it.

They are very real, mate.
>>28651810
they're real but they take me fucking forever to learn. it's pretty damn discouraging when you feel like you're having a damn epiphany to figure out stuff others have known since elementary school
>>28651810
social cues are the most important part of interacting with other humans, how do you not know this? have you ever talked to another human being before?
>>28651820
But why is it a thing, though?
Do normies go around thinking "what did s/he mean by that?"
Kind of a waste of time IMO
>>28651909
nope, literally the opposite. that's the point of social cues
>>28651909
you're supposed to be able to pick up on these things in real time, jesus
how autistic are you man?
>>28651810
sorry everything isn't a binary programming equation you fucking robot
There are certain things you can pick up. Like the tone of their voice, body language, the words they use and frequency of taking their turn in the conversation.
But its mostly obvious stuff. People here have an inferiority complex and make up all kinds of things, you cant just look at a person and read their minds.

>People here have an inferiority complex
have you been reading this thread? pretty much everyone is saying how obvious social cues should be to non-autists
What's a social cue?
>>28652032
They have an inferiority complex in way that they consistently make up shit that in their minds "should be normal", but which they clearly dont posess, and go on to project this onto others. Most people here who are so up in arms about autism and framing everyone like one are just projecting.
they are one of many false myths of society that are purposefully nebulous so that they give free reign over who is outcast and why, while preventing the formation of guilt.
so, if a group wants to outcast the short fat balding guy, they can do so without feeling petty, by attributing it to his inability to pick up these social cues. they attribute a disability where there is none to justify exclusive or unfair behavior.

wait do you guys seriously not believe that social cues exist because you don't get them? this is like denying that there are other languages in the world because you only speak one
>>28652307
no, it's like not believing in the toothfairy because I have critical thinking skills.
