I want to listen to something new. What's your favorite album /r9k/ and why do you like it?
Grace by Jeff Buckley. He was probably one of the greatest singers of rock. He drowned after one album. I sincerely believe he would have changed the course of rock music had he lived.
cute girls and catchy music
It taught me how to appreciate texture and showed me that noise can beautiful. The sonic equivalent of cuddling in bed with a girl you love in a hotel overlooking the Tokyo skyline while drinking an ice cold cherry cola.
Have you listened to Chance the Rapper?
A lot of ATCQ fans like him. Including me.

Album: Khanate - Things Viral
Flavor of the moment. Genuinely not trying to be some silly edgelord, but I've been struggling with unusually bad depressive episodes lately, and for whatever reason, this album, in all of its incredibly dark and disturbing lyrical content, soothes my mind into a dull grey, which is loads better than the tremendous weight of suicidal self-talk and other garbage.
CYNE - Evolution Fight
Philosophical hip hop, arrow of God is my favorite off of it. This album brought me into the hip hop genre and changed my perspective on music completely.

Listen to this immediately.
have fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1NU6QgbU_8
This is my favourite album because it evokes nice emotions but I can't really explain it beyond that.
Also Dead Meadow are godlike and I'm very disappointed they're not more appreciated.

It has all those funky instrumentals that were in the newest Kendrick Lamar album but without any of the unnecessary rapping.
if you like ATCQ you'll probably like it.
I usually fucking hate sharing what I listen to because nobody ever fucking cares. I'm that guy that nobody wants to listen to my recommendations simply because I recommended them, but since you fags are anons I'm gonna post em because I feel like it.
Also inb4 "huurr metal wa0w ur edgy hurrrr"
Bones-Powder
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF1EgC8cdhI
Because its just dark and deep. I feel like I can relate to bones alot and its also catchy
Wolves in the Throne Room- Two Hunters
Because its Dark and Deep again. Plus it being a concept album is cool, like its a journey to death.

Pagan Manifesto by Elvenking
Because its cheesy and happy
And they sing about fantasy shit so its like the same escapism you'd get from playing Skyrim except in music form.

If you're into old school prog rock you probably know this already.

I'm not. And why the fuck should I be?
I'm actually pretty into music but the hipster retards I'd hang out with would refuse to pass me the aux cord.
I used to think it was because I mostly listened to metal back in the day and they didn't want to hear that
But now I listen to tons of other shit, they still aren't interested in what i'm listening to. Even when its people actively talking about music and sharing it with eachother. So I just stopped fucking talking about it. I just tell people I listen to rock and rap.
I do that with all my interests now though. Im tired of peoples stupid fucking projections about shit they are so ignorant about so I'll just not talk about it.

you've got good taste, i'm a fan

just got into this. never really listened to flying lotus before. you're dead is amazing, but why are the tracks so short?
>>28649580
the way i see it is that you shouldn't really bother paying attention to the tracks, the entire album is not very long at all so it's no problem to listen to the whole thing. but, as someone who makes them, sometimes instrumentals are just things that you make and get out there and they only need to be 15 seconds long to get the full effect of what you want. with You're Dead i believe flylo did this to create a more punctual album, stripping away any of the "fat" that was on Cosmogramma. which is a fantastic album along with Los Angeles.
flylo's a really cool dude, he's got his own label now, and even posted on 4chan once.

I will recommend a couple things though
>The Hands That Thieve by Streetlight Manifesto
>People Who Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People In The World by Andrew Jackson Jihad
>Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast Recording)
36 Chambers from Wu Tang Clan, best hiphop album ever.
