my first gigantic data loss was when Netscape Navigator had a small glitchbug managing my mailbox.
my second and last gigantic data loss was when I accidentally unpowered my computer, and found that the installed Linux wiped out "/tmp" at every reboot. Only lost some 4 megabytes of files - but they all were my juvenile works.
