Maladaptive daydreaming or excessive daydreaming.
Does anyone else here have this?
I spend hours of my day pacing up and down my room while listening to music while dreaming up fantasy.

In these dreams I'm usually the hero figure or some other important person.
Some of my fantasy stories have lasted years.
I'm probably going to be like this until I die.

Ha, I do this too
Sometimes I dance a bit too, or make movements/poses

Typical schizoid behavior

I used to, I'd sleep in excessively just so i could repeat my little fantasies. I'd nap in classes any time i could get away with it to fantasize. One day, it just sorta...lost its shine, I have no idea why. I just couldn't derive any enjoyment of it, kinda saddens me.

Yeah I make the movements too.
But I've been told it's not schizoid because I'm aware that my dreams are not real.

It still sucks since I'd rather stay indoors daydreaming all day instead of doing anything else. I seriously begin to have nervous ticks if I don't daydream for a while.

What age were you when you stopped doing it?

Glad you posted this OP, nice to know I'm not the only one that does this. Pic very related.

I'm not 100% sure. I feel like it was around when i dropped out of highschool or slightly later. I'd estimate around 17-19, might have coincided with my first little existential crisis .

Thanks, 21 here and still doing it, went through various life changes and even an existential crisis but my daydreaming has held strong.

HOLY SHIT
I finally found someone else who does the exact same thing I do. It's gotten so bad for me that I actually make the arm movements and start speaking out loud. I even run and jump sometimes. I'm in my 20s and I can literally spend hours doing it if I find a good idea. It's sad really.
