Years of isolating myself from people has left me without friends.

I also recently had my heart broken by someone who I thought loved me for who I was. Turns out they were a liar.

haha faggot. They are easy to annoy, just talk about emotions and sarcastically tell them, in a serious tone how good and important emotions are for people. It makes them feel stupid even though they love seeming superior the everyone else. Good times fucking around with some INTJ know-it-alls

When I try to get along with normies at work I never mention video games or music because I share no opinions with them and they don't know jack shit about those art forms anyway.

If you want to get to closer to people as in making friends I suggest taking your time to let people talk about themselves, and you share some interesting and relateable information about yourself in return. I made a couple of cool friends that way, even though they were normies

>nothing edgy about being interested in historical battles, battle formations, military equipment, etc.

It is pretty edgy, and most guys who like this stuff are mildly autistic. They talk about how they're obsessed with military history, but get their information from literally who """"""historians"""""", unreliable secondary sources, and the History Channel. There's rarely any unbiased, objective discussion, because they're more interested in jerking off to their national heroes and arguing about whatever is in the mainstream.

A good example of this is books about military aviation and aerial combat, especially dealing with the second world war. It is so fucking rare to find an author that's willing to use every primary source at his disposal (matching allied and axis combat reports, interviewing pilots from both sides, separating legend from fact, etc.)

When Dan Ford released his history: "Flying Tigers: Claire Chennault and his American volunteers" there was a shitstorm. He produced an unbiased, meticulously researched account of the AVG in Burma. "Historians, biographers, and veterans who actually FLEW IN THE AVG resented him for this. Their original combat claims amounted to literally more aircraft than the Japanese actually had in Burma during the entire time the AVG was active. No fucking joke, they insisted they shot down thousands of Japanese aircraft and everyone just tool that as historical fact. When someone presented the facts, it was "muh revisionism"

This kind of shit is everywhere, and nobody really cares because as long as they get a good story it doesn't matter.

John Glubb says some really good stuff on this subject at the beginning of "Fate of Empires"

I'm not so mean, silly cynical spider poster. I like to have online friends and people to talk to because I'm happiest when I'm extraverted. >>
>>28618046
The most common are your typical wading birds and herons. And then you get the less common kites swooping about. My favourites are the sandpiper and the white breasted water hen. The latter startles easy though.

>>28613151

>>
>>28618121
Larger than what I'm used to then. Ducks and geese aside, the largest I'll find around are grackles and crows. The occasional hawk, falcon, or eagle here and there but they hide pretty well.

Then again, I live in a city where a wild turkey or two can be spotted strutting around, so there's that. Typical birds here are robins, cardinals, sparrows, and finches.

>>
>>28618356
It could be because cardinals are larger than many other birds in this area. Robins are even larger but they don't bother with bird feeders, leaving the cardinals be.

Woodpeckers can trump the cardinals but they can sometimes be too big for feeders.
>>
>>28618223
>I guess if you're introverted you wouldn't understand

Yeah, I need to work on not spouting shitty memes about orbiters, normies etc. and accept that some people actually like the company of a large group of other people.

It's hard though, because groups of more than 2 people exhaust me, and I couldn't see anybody being comfortable in that setting, or with having lots of friends.

Ahh cool, sounds similar to me as well. I majored in a STEM field, but literature of all kinds has always been interesting.

I've read all of those but "A Farewell To Arms" and have really only read fragments of "Paradise Lost". There's always been something interesting about Milton, maybe it's the blind writer thing, perhaps it's time to pick up Paradise Lost.

Never read the Rubiyat, I'll put that at the top of my Poetry queue, as it seems different than what I've read before.

Poetry has been elusive for me to fully appreciate. Last attempts were in T.S. Eliot, who I enjoyed a reasonable amount - the Waste Land was interesting, and Ezra Pound, who was too much for me.
