>tfw straightedge lifestyle kills your social life

My closest friends are pushing me to drink with them. They say it would put me at ease in social situations. They say I'm too uptight.

Finally start talking to a girl and I know she will want to drink at some point, but my lifestyle forbids me.

It sucks...

what if she drinks, and you don't? how about that?
>>

thats the problem, i done know its an issue.
>>
Just have one drink man, you won't even feel anything and it's socially acceptable
>>
>>28591645
To be honest they are absolutely correct but I can tell you from experience you're going to save yourself a shitload of money.

I'm past that age now but in mid twenties its all about smoking, Smoking seems to be the source of 70% of socialising in my life right now and I just can't get into it.

but it violates my code

>muh code

Seriously dude? You really can't drink responsibly, so you have to completely abstain from it?
>>
I know your pain, OP.

Luckily my friends are starting to grow up and don't pressure me anymore.

It's still a hassle, because I refuse to date a girl who drinks.

>>28592218
Drinking at all is unresponsible.
>>
>>28591645
I don't consciously think of myself as straight edge, but I hate drinking and I don't have any friends to drink with, so it's not like I'm ruining any sort of social life by being teetotal.

Honestly no idea how I could ever get friends or a gf, not like I have methods of doing so, or any confidence.
>>
>>28592218
Yes I havent touched it my whole life, actually at this point, it would be kinda a bummer to give up.

>That feel when alcohol saved your social life
>That feel when soon will be probably doing drugs
The slippery slope is real and I like it

Drinking with normies is a joke. I should hang out with a group of normalfags this week, pressuring them to keep up with me until they either get up and leave or puke.
>>
>>28592320
This is me.

I have depression and see a lot of people drinking to cope. At least I've avoided falling into that hole.
>>
You're the only one imposing your retarded lifestyle on yourself.

iktf, I rely heavily on alcohol in social situations. I even go to job interviews pretty buzzed, and once did a presentation in school buzzed.
>>
>>28592435
How do you avoid problems with drunk driving living like that? Brake early?
>>
>>28592365
That's what you get for not being from (north-)eastern europe.
Here even normies know how to drink.
If only my socialist utopia wouldn't tax alcohol so badly.
>>
>>28591645

that feel, i have to avoid alcohol because of a medical condition, youd be surprised how much it bothers other people when someone doesnt/cant drink
>>
>>28591645
you need better friends then. bitches drinking till passing out is a huge red flag anyway.

Stopped reading right there.

It doesn't, really - I have a friend who doesn't drink but still hangs out with us even when the night's agenda is just focused heavy drinking. If anything, he's the one who gets bothered when everyone else is drunk.
Also there's often the designated driver who'll get dragged along with no bother at all.

Public transport, man.
Having a car in a city is a mistake anyways.
Not him, tough
>>
>>28592773
I suppose that's a good option in the city. I live in a smaller town and I like to drive, otherwise I'd probably be walking. Cab is too expensive to use on a regular basis, and I can't find rides all the time. I know if I hadn't quit drinking I would have been clipped for drunk driving. It's not a good long-term solution for anxiety problems.

>unresponsible
but thats unpossible
>>
>>28591645
It's hip to have at least one beer because it makes other people feel better about their drunkenness. It's surprisingly fun to watch other people be drunk jf you have only one as cover, and its easy to fuck le drunk bitches when all the other drunk guys are acting a fool
>>
>>28591645
Just make up a medical reason, no-one's going to check with your doctor or ask for heaps of details on it, just say alcohol makes your heart play up or some shit. No-one pressures you to drink then, and as long as you're still fun, they're not going to stop inviting you as a result of it.
>>
The funny thing is that it's always drinkers who say that non-drinkers are really arrogant, like they look down their noses at drinkers and try to act better than them

When, in reality, it's the drinkers who treat non-drinkers like subhuman retards

>your friends are trying to force you to do it
>literally scared about what would happen if a girl wanted to drink, like it's not possible for you to just have a non-alcoholic drink, for some reason she would look down on you
>>
>>28591645
silly anon, you should be yourself and give into peer pressure and do what everyone else wants just be yourself
