First exam is about 4 weeks away and I haven't started revising anything?

Am I fucked?

Post A Levels and how fucked you are.
>>
Depending on the exam, 4 weeks might be long enough to turn it around. What are you studying?

Further Maths, Maths and Physics here. My first exam is FP3 on Wednesday. Bricking it, tbhfam. I feel pretty confident in knowing what to do in terms of method, etc but keep doing dumb mistakes like fucking up addition or keeping my +/- signs correct.
>>
>>28586914
Maths, Biology and Chemistry.

Biology and Chemistry are fine but I can't do maths, keep failing past papers in C4. Integration is fucking shit.
>>
>>28586437
>4 weeks away with no revision

Man I remember A-level exams, I put more time into them than I did my masters exams.
>>
>>28587003
Sorta opposite for me. I'm pretty good at Maths but Physics is fucking me over. You doing AQA?

The Mathbox notes are pretty good, you can find them via Google. But really you just have to keep doing past papers and it will click eventually.
>>
>>28587120
Oh fuck. Are they that hard? If so I am severely fucked.
>>
>>28587148
Edexcel for maths. It would be fine if I had more time.
>>
>>28587159
What A Levels are you studying, lad?
>>
>>28587159
Their importance is really blown out of proportion, as they do kind of decide you fate if you want to go to uni.

I didn't do well in them (BCC results) and I nearly have a masters in science. They're not a great predictor of future performance.
>>
>>28587295
That's encouraging. I got BBC in AS, and I need ABB for my firm and BBC for my insurance. What university are you studying at?
>>
>>28587280
Maths, chemistry and biology.

Getting really worried now, it's like I need to learn all of it in a few weeks since I have done no revision until now.
>>
I have Economics tomorrow morning. Was supposed to spend all weekend revising but as usual I procrastinated all of Saturday and did minimal work on Sunday. Feeling extremely unprepared, wish me luck lads

Any ideas on how to force myself to do revision for my next exams? Got Philosophy on Thursday and I'm scared that the same thing will happen again
>>
>>28586437
4 weeks?

4 fucking weeks.

Mate I've got a physics exam for my first year at uni and I only started revising a week ago lmao

Final test is in less than 24 hours and havent revised in two weeks of free time.
>>
>>28587349
I did Biology at the University of Manchester, they wanted BBB back then (2010) and I missed that so I was offered a place on the foundation couse. It was hard but it was a guarenteed place on the real course if I passed. Ended up studying Plant Science/Botany and got a 2:1.

Fuck all relevant jobs around so after pub work for a year I went to Harper Adams University for a Masters in Integrated Pest Management. Looking at research jobs and PhDs now.

>>28587413
A-level exams are way more stressful than first year uni exams though.
>>
>>28587295
what uni did you go to, may I ask?
>>
>>28587401
Do you have a console, PC anything like that in your room?

I took mine out of my room and it's worked quite well to reduce distractions.
>>
Are Chemistry and Physics worth the commitment for working a profession after graduation?

I've yet to go back to school and am still uncertain on the things I want to do in life
>>
>>28587368
Maths doesn't have much to learn, it's fairly easy to pick up the skills and you just need to practice using past papers.

The sciences on the otherhand are gonna need dedication. Best of luck. I have to relearn all of Unit 5 Physics again, I don't remember shit.
>>
>>28587469
Yeah I tried that but I just end up procrastinating by doodling or rummaging in my room for old shit

If I get two Bs and an A is it likely that I can get predicted AAA* next year? How important are AS levels really?
>>
>>28587563
>How important are AS levels really?

Underaged, but are you in SW england?
>>
>>28587455
University of Manchester, almost went to Bangor kek

Christ I still get their newsletters, they're having a literal social justice fest.
>>
>>28587563
I got AAB at AS. Resitting a couple of units so they predicted me A*A*A. It's too high and I probably won't get it, but teachers for some reason think I'm really smart so gave me high predicted grades.

I would say it depends on teachers and how realistic they are.
>>
>>28587612
Oops. And I'm in L O N D O N
>>
>>28587619
Bangor as in Norn Iron?

What the fuck? I thought all the liberal shits stayed in Belfast?

>>
>>28587683
Bangor as in Northern Wales. I'm unaware as to what you mean by liberal shits, I'm as right wing shitlord as they come.
>>
>>28587722
I'm not calling you a liberal shit me ol chum, I'm referring to the Social Justice fest or whatever it is.

I should have known it was wales, the only Uni worth going in NI is Queens, or at least it was, it's probably socialist central now
>>
>>28587641
Ok thanks. I think I can pull off AAB, as long as I don't fuck up my RS. Not sure if I'm going to be able to pull off A* A A if I even get them predicted, but I really need good grades for my uni, especially seeing as I have 0 co-curriculars for UCAS.
Really don't want to take a gap year to re-do anything.

>>28587708
>>28587474
You need to make up your mind about what you want to do at university first. Almost all chemistry or physics courses at university require you to have studied it at AS and A2, so if you want to study that at university it's a must that you do it for A level.
Personally I wouldn't do it because they are some of the hardest A level courses, and subsequently challenging university courses. But I'm terrible at sciences - if you enjoy them and have passion then go for it.
>>
>>28587794
The social justice fest is at Manchester Uni m8, the place is rotten with marxism to the core.

My current uni is great in that regard, isn't associated with the NUS, no faggot clubs, you'd probably get killed spouting off marxist crap.
>>
Anyone else /IBDP/ ?

Jesus fucking Christ why are you here?

I mean - sincerely, why are you here? You're what, 18, 19? You have your whole lives ahead of you, you have uni or college to turn things around

This place is a cesspit for failures - I'm a 26 year old virgin with a dead end job and it enrages and breaks my icy black heart to see young kids think that they've reached the title of robot. I don't want to sound like 'muh sekrit club', but you guys still have hope to live happy, functioning lives - leave now, and never come back.

No revision, C1 maths paper on Wednesday. Feeling good about that, and the FP1 paper on Friday. Everything else is cancer so I'm probably just going to have a breakdown or something else after. Never did a proper exam, they didn't let me take my mock papers because I had a breakdown about 10 minutes before the first one because I'm an aspie wreck lmao

Last year before AS results, I couldn't sleep anyway. So I did an allnighter playing terraria with /v/. I was exhausted when I got my results but it made my disappointing grades less disappointing (BBCC, not as bad as I thought desu).

Hey, I have C1 on Wednesday as well. It's... a resit. I have a clash with FP3.

It's pretty shameful. I'm really good at maths in terms of knowing what to do, understanding concepts and all that. But I am fucking shit at mental maths. I am nothing without a calculator, and that's why I fucked up last year.

I can do FP3 absolutely fine but when it comes down to doing addition or multiplication in my head, I'm either slow as fuck or prone to retarded mistakes.
>>
>>28589361
I did shit all (besides from day before revision right before in class mocks). I started revising properly, with a daily schedule, at the start of May though.
>>

I'm also on D's. I've done jack-shit. I could do so much better if I put the effort in.
>>
Glad I finished with my A-Levels years ago, very stressful

Word of advice, in your second year retake as many AS's as you can, especially for maths. I retook C1/C2 and got 95%+ in both, which meant I didn't need to revise at all for C4 (which I was shit at) because I had a huge safety net

Yup, got 4 chemistry exams in the next 6 weeks - CHEM1/2/4/5 (AQA 2009 spec)

Did an apprenticeship in the merchant navy straight out of school now going to uni in sept hopefully to study chemical engineering. Taught myself a level chemistry in 3 months (AS+A2) and pretty confident I will get A/A* (need A to get in).

Chemistry is really easy imo, the maths is ridiculously easy and you are literally building off the concepts you learn first.

The amount of socjus shit at Manchester is sickening. As rowdy and laddish as Harper Adams gets (and it has a mildly fucked up past) there is none of this shit. It's a manageable kind of degeneracy.

As for your minority points? Sure, not really sure how. Do me a favour though, when you get there check out the botanical gardens (known as the Firs). You'll have to do some asking around as they're a bit of a secret but I put many years into working to improve that place. The few good memories I have from that uni are mostly from there. I hope it's being looked after.

>>28589815
They're scrapping ICT soon as well. It's a fucking useless A Level and GCSE. Everyone in this generation knows how to fucking use a computer, we don't need baby boomers explaining how important it is to learn the fundamental in ICT A Level.

Yeah, my supervisor was fucking terrible. It was the first time she handled the EPQ so nobody knew what they were doing. I stopped turning up to the weekly sessions too since they clashed with my other lessons.

I just read Student Room and found A* examples online, otherwise I would've been fucked as well. The problem was that everyone relied too much on their actual essay, and neglected the production log, time plan (both of which I fabricated to pretend I started six months prior).

Sorry mate, your D really sucks. At least most unis don't even recognise the EPQ. I only did it for Realising Oppourtunities.

Really? Our Abitur used to be 3 years too until a few years ago, now it's 2 years but it's even a bit harder because they didn't reduced the curriculum alot.
Do the years and normal exams before count into your final grade too? Or is it only the final exams that count? Also the amount of people having A's make it seem easier than you say, in germany an A in the final exam is not that common. Overall average is mostly 2.3 (about B-)

It's slightly unconventional for a C3 question. That's all it takes to throw some people off.

Medics explains a lot I think. Medicine is all about effort, and by putting in effort you can pretty much learn A level Maths exams perfectly. Rather than having an innate problem solving skill. Actual mathematical skill you only really start to need in uni.

College (free) = Vocational stuff
University (9000 per year for England, some shitty places are less) = Academic stuff

You pay university fees over the course of 30 years and it's so little you don't need to worry about it. If you don't finish paying it after 30 years it's wiped from existence. If you never earn more than 21,000 a year then you never pay any of it back.
