Hunting is expensive. Weapons and ammunition costs add up, fees for licenses, not to mention if your not a neet it's pretty damn expensive to take time off work and go fuck around in the middle of nowhere.
Personally the thing that keeps me away from hunting is public land tends to be crowded and theres no a lot of clear markings about what's private so unless you know someone before you get started that says it's okay to hunt on their land you got a lot of limited options for hunting spots.

I've seen videos on youtube of a deer getting a vital shot, taking off running and falling down after a few seconds because it didn't realize it was already dead. Up until recently, death by firing squad was considered a humane form of capital punishment and I'd argue it still is compared to lethal injection.
