I learned how to fight as part of my job (I'm an armed security guard), and let me tell ya, it does nothing for you if you have achieved nothing in life. Yeah I can fight, but it does nothing for my confidence because in the end of the day I'm just some low IQ idiot working a stupid job for a step above minimum wage.

But it depends what the root of your insecurity is and what you lack confidence about.
E.g. If you lack confidence because you're 28 and still working in retail then learning to fight probably won't fix that.
But if you lack confidence because you feel nervous talking to people then being able to fight might help that.

certainty comes from REPEATED, reliable experiences confirming a hypothesis
when normies say "just be confident" they are saying "just be certain in your worth"
if you have no worth (you are ugly, boring, poor, dumb, lazy, etc.) then being certain in how worthless you are (or even delusionally certain that you are valuable even when you aren't) nothing will help you. You need to either improve yourself somehow if it is possible like make $, get plastic surgery, work out/learn how to fight, study, learn how to talk to people and entertain them, etc.
If you already DO have value (you are good looking, rich, etc.) but you are not sure if others percieve you as valuable, then you need to get reference experiences by propositioning to them and seeing how they respond. If the majority of them seem interested or accept your offers, then you become more certain of your value to others. If the majority of them reject you or treat you like shit, then that means you actually don't have as much value as you thought.

You have to learn to accept your flaws, the imperfect person of you.Then you start changing things, slowly work at those flaws, it sucks, but every time you do, it gets better.
Literally a year and a half ago, I was 270 lbs, beta fuck, that was totally insecure about myself. Now, I'm 180 lbs, well muscled, confident as fuck, everyone recognizes my alpha status, girls randomly approach me when I'm at bars wanting to fuck, shit is crazy.
Turns out I'm a tranny though and all this may dry up soon when things become more obvious, but oh well.
