What happened then is the main reason I stick around here even though it's unbearably shitty and depressing at times. My life is the way it is because of the choices I have made. That's so painfully obvious it sounds stupid right? I came on here and found a bunch of people who thought like I did, acted like I did. I joined the pity party. Then I found threads like "beta orbiters" describing a bunch of behaviors that I had engaged in and I felt a deep sense of shame. Right after that I felt angry at myself and I wanted to change. I acted like an asshole to the girls I was trying to date at first, especially the ones that weren't receptive to my cringey beta behavior. After that I started to even out, I figured out how to actually be comfortable with females. Hasn't changed how I deal with everyone else though.
Beyond just dating and females I learned how to accept myself. I stopped worrying about what people may or may not think of me. I worried more about what I want out of life and how to get it. I didn't change the core of my personality or my interests, just the way I thought about things.
