I never understood the appeal of it

I deleted my Facebook in November of 2015. I hated having it, that's because I would log on about 3 times a day to see 0 activity and it made me very depressed to connect with no one. Meanwhile that happening I'd see other people from my old circle of "friends" with their new girl friends and friends in out of state colleges.

The single ones post really cringy shit and get about 100 likes in 2 minutes, and tons of comments from fat chicks with stupid dogs with cartoon hearts.
Male friends post an image every week or so with like 12 people, they get about 6 likes and a comment asking them about the event.

I pretty much use it to talk with my 4 best friends that i've known since we were 6 (they're all normies, i'm the most robot-like) we have a message group with 650k messages sent since 2010, and i have a bunch of gif/meme pages liked so my newsfeed is just funny pictures for the most part
I don't really understand why you guys hate it so much, you can adjust it so that it simply becomes a place where you can message your friends and look at new funny shit every 2/3 hours.
